Seven Days Tracklistings and Covers
From funkin.com, as reported on the official site:

Quote:
The official site has announced artwork and track listings for each of the UK formats of Seven Days In Sunny June, which is released in the UK on 15 August.

In addition to the remixes already announced, a new "Blackbeard" remix makes it onto the CD-Maxi release. This is a super cool chilled out remix of Seven Days, which I feel complements the original album version.

The single is available to pre-order now from the Jamiroquai shop, and also sites including Amazon.co.uk (CD1, CD2).

The vinyl has new artwork Shocked Which means I for one am going to be buying it! Also, the artwork used for the promo isn't used on any of the releases covers, which will no doubt make the promo something more of a collector item now!

There may be a lot of remixes, but at least the vinyl has an original one. Much better than I expected Very Happy

It's weird how singles are getting such a nice 3d artwork and the album instead was..well..taken from an early nirvana cover!

I think J would seel more records if he astonished people with those old BLUE (TM) designs he had for the first albums, I mean, these one from SDISJ are sooo cool! Loving them

Hey!

I'm loving the new artwork! I like the whole look of simplicity...they really will stand out once they're in the music stores!

I also intend to buy the vinyl!

Hello Jamirotalkers,

I think the artwork for 'Seven Days In Sunny June' is superb! I really like it. In fact, I don't know about the songs -I haven't heard any-, but I'll try to buy the three of them, I want to have that milk and that melting metal!

"Ohhhhh.....metal liquid being poured....Ahhhh!!!"
buffaloman_R Hello, buffaloman_R

Smile Awesome tracklistings and very scary single artwork, doesn't the Buffaloman get a break from being doused with various colored liquids Smile? Sad Sad to see the "Kraak & Smaak Mix" of SD didn't make the single releases, that was one of my "highlights" of the remixes Sad. Anyway, back to the single covers, I am a bit confused, are they actual liquids being thrown or completely computer rendered? Cause the "Liquid Metal" cover does give a hint of computer rendering. Oh well, I can't wait to buy the Maxi Single, most curious to see what this bloody "Blackbeard Remix" will sound like. Wink Thanks for the post info Shooter, much appreciated Wink! Peace!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

I found the SDISJ promo in a record store today for 99p! I was gonna but it on eBay as well...I'm glad I didn't now! It has lovely artwork inside and out:

I also got the 'Dynamite' promo (all 12 tracks plus Beatbox) for £1.99! Bargain! Can't play it on my PC though, or Sony BMG will eat me for lunch...Sad

actually i'm quite convinced that it isn't CG at all. The only fluid simulation software that can come up with a liquid simulation quality like this is nextlimit realflow i believe. the time to set up and simulate a scene like this is in no relation to the price that would cost. especially with the close up it would require a very (!!!!!) high resolution mesh for the fluid. and to get the splashes looking this good the simulation would have to run for at least 400 frames. considering the resolution of the poly-objects (the buffaloman has to be high-res as well as the liquid touches the mesh) i would say you have at least three minutes calculation time per frame. which would bring the simulation time up to at least 20 hours (3 min x 400 frames = 1200 minutes = 20 hours). and there is still no time for scene set up, texturing (okay, that wouldn't have taken long), lighting and rendering. as the image would be needed extremely high res for printing rendertimes would be sky high. lets only say they would want to print it out on A3 posters (3500 x 5000 pixel to get a A3 300 dpi image) and it was rendered with mentalray or vray (obviously some GI renderer) i would go for at least 24 hours rendertime.

building a couple of buffalomen, painting them and pouring some white liquid at them and shooting that with a high speed cam would be much faster and cheaper Wink to give the liquid a different colour is a job that's easily done in photoshop.
