live 8
I just rode in a spanish newspaper that Jamiroquai was one of the most important bands of the live 8 concert. (I though they didn´t play in that event)
Did they play in London?
Any pictures/videos of it?
thanks for reading |

Sadly they didn't play
Though apparently they got booked for it without their knowing.
They were busy with their own tour at the time. _________________

Allow me (as someone who, living in the UK, had to put up woith Geldof's self-righteous nonsense for about three years leading up to this concert) to clarify.
Jamiroquai were originally on the bandlist to play the Paris concert as part of Live8. They didn't end up doing so. B-Live had NOTHING to do with Live8 - it's a small festival in London that's apparently been running for the last three years or so, and Jami are the biggest band they've ever had there by an absolute mile. Since B-Live was the day after Live8, and was in London, whereas their Live8 date was 'booked' for Paris, Jami 'pulled out' or Live8 (this was what the Live8 organisers said). However, looking through Funkin's news archive last week, I found a quote from the week leading up to Live8, in which Jay was asked whether he was excited to be playing in Paris, and his answer was something along the lines of 'playing Live8, are we? That's news to me. No-one's asked us.'
It sounds to me like Geldof was doing something he has since admitted having done at the original Live Aid - namely, made the announcement to the world that a band were going to be playing, in an effort to scare them into actually doing so. He does things like this because he's an arsehole.
