Hi,
I have been here for a while but I haven't introduced myself!!! My name is Jamie and I am 31 from Southampton UK.
I have been a fan of Jamiroquai from day one, and it was Stuart Zender's infectuous bass guitar on "Too young to die" and Jay's vocals that first hooked my up to the groove.
It was back in the day when all the rave and acid music was at the main forefront of the day's music. It was all getting a bit "same old same old" and I needed something else to listen to. I was walking somewhere with my radio in my ears flicking through the stations when I first caught the sound of Jamiroquai, and it was only the last few moments of TYTD that I heard, and I was hooked from there. That was the music change I needed!! I scrambled around everywhere for the next few weeks to hear the tune again somewhere else and i couldn't find it.
A few weeks later, I heard "Blow your mind" on the radio, and within an hour I had bought the "Emergency on planet Earth" on cassette album.
From that day I have never looked back, and there is never a week when I do not have one of their tunes on.
I would love to be able to remix one of Jamiroquai's tunes and have it featured on their next CD release, but alas that may never happen!! Still I have done a few compilation mixes of their dance remixes, and I have done a such professional job on them, they are worthy of airplay.
I have been lucky to own every UK CD single release (and a few imports) to date over the years and long may my CD collection prosper to the sound of Jamiroquai. |

Hi everyone!
My name's Emily, and I'm new to this site! I'm also a new fan of Jamiroquai, since Dynamite. I'm 16 years old, and have just finished my GCSE'S. I love music, and play the piano and bassoon, (am trying to learn jazz on the piano at the moment! ) Apart from Jamiroquai, I also love Red Hot Chili Peppers, Keane, Jet and Jamie Cullum.
I have been reading this forum for quite a while and it looks like great fun!

Hi Emily!
Welcome to The Jamily! It's nice to have a new fan among us!
I'm intrigued...which track from the fantastic new album got you hooked on Jamiroquai?! Also, have you heard any of their earlier material yet?

Hi Claire!
Actually, Dynamite wasn't the first time I'd heard Jamiroquai, I heard Canned Heat when it was released ages ago, and thought at the time how amazing it was! But stupidly, I waited about 5 years before I brought one of their albums! I saw on amazon.co.uk that Jamiroqui was releasing a new album, (Dynamite) and remembering how good Canned Heat was I bought it and I love it! My favourite songs are probably SDISJ along with Starchild. But since then I got Return of the Space Cowboy, which is very different but still fantastic, as well as Emergency on Planet Earth which I also love! Which album would you recommend me to get next?

All of them! Personally though, I would recommend you buy a copy of Travelling Without Moving next. I'm in love with that album and many others share my opinion...there is currently a thread asking for us all to vote for our favourite of the six albums - http://www.jamirotalk.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3645
Check it out and feel free to post once you've chosen your favourite!

Hi everyone!
I'm not a new member of this forum. I registered a few years ago, and chatted for a while until other things happened in my life and Jamirotalk became a place where i could get updates on the band but i didn't post anymore.
I have a daughter of 18 months called Ilse (see my avatar where she's eating her lunch in our livingroom). She is mainly the reason I haven't been visiting here. When I had time online I would visit boards about babies and moms. That bores the hell out of me now and I started coming back here. Meeting wonderful fans at the Duesseldorf gig also helped a great deal.
I am 29 years old, and been married for 4 months now to a great guy called Rene! he's also Ilse's father. We first had a baby, then got married. I am currently in between jobs but starting a new job in january as a cashier at the casino.
I like music from Jamiroquai, Janet Jackson, Prince, Coldplay, U2, Live but also John Mayer, Alicia Keys, Macy Gray, Stevie Wonder, Robbie Williams, Madonna, (I can go on for a while.....)
I love visiting concerts alot. I've seen Coldplay this year, and U2. I've also been to Madonna's show, Prince (2x) Robbie Williams, and Live in the past year or two. I've seen Janet Jackson performing about 18 times!
I discovered Jamiroquai's music properly in 2001. Before that I always liked the singles but never bought an album. The song Corner of the Earth made me check out the music of Jamiroquai. And I loved them more and more as I was listening to their album.
Unlucky for me the Funk Odyssey tour already ended, and i had to wait 4 years until my first J.gig in Duesseldorf.
Now I'm totally hooked on Jamiroquai for good. I have two more shows to look forward too. I can't wait to see the show again! I hope to meet more Jamiroquai fans at the shows in Rotterdam and Brussels, so we can have a party like we had in Germany!
Love,
