Jethro Tull, Queen and Pat Metheny Group
Heeey fellas!
I would like to hear, if anyone of you like one o these three groups!?? I liiiiiiiiike them, and I cant help being musically inspired by them! Of course best of them is is PMG, but on stage Queen. My parents went to see them in Germany once in the 80's--- BUT I only see them on dvd's now and they're awesome!!!
I think Jamiroquai should use a bit more of the Jethro Tull sound- rocksound with the flute! Wouldn't that just be totallly coool... hehehhe
Take care all of you!

I like Jethro Tull too. I even was at one of their concerts when they played in Niederkorn (Luxembourg). I can't remember which year it was though. Unfortunately there was something wrong with Ian Anderson's voice. I don't know if it was his age or just a cold, but he had difficulties to sing the high pitch notes. |

i'm not so much on jethro tull, i only know some songs and i think they are great, as for queen, i love them i have most of the discography, i don't dig 80's ones that much but first records are just amazing (queen, queen II, sheer heart attack,A DAY AT THE RACES, A NIGHT AT THE OPERA, JAZZ) and pat metheny (group, trio or solo) is also incredible, ssome stuff form him is practically inaudible (as song x album, video games and stuff) but i like most of the other stuff, i've got 17 albums from him, i like the first and second album a lot (bright size life and watercolors, also the first from pat metheny group( PMG), and the letter from home one is amazing, autunm live sis great too, and also the last one, one quiet night, so smooth) _________________

Jethro Tull....I love them, but unfortunately, don't know them enough...
Pat Metheny, though, i have ALL of his solo albums, trio albums....but the group, only a few, and the reason has a name:
LYLE MAYS
In my opinion, mays ruins most of the PMG groups music...and Pat never ceases to work with him...;which is bad....IMO, because usually they²re great...
That's why i didn't buy THE WAY UP.... _________________

I love Pat Metheny. I've got from Bright Size Life to The way Up. When I heard Letter From Home for the first time I felt.... damnit, I cant explain what I felt, but it was incredible!

Jethro Tull has a famous place in music history for most Americans. Im sure a lot of Americans enjoyed their music back when they were famous (late 80s early 90s right?), but they are most known in the U.S. for this:
The Grammy awards in the late 80s finally added a hard rock/metal award. In that first year they gave out the award, Metallica's "And Justice for All" album (one of the best hard rock/metal albums of all time) was one of the nominees. Metallica was the best nominee by far to win the award. But... Jethro Tull, eventhough their sound is barely "hard" enough to be a nominee in the category, won the award.
IT WAS CONSIDERED MAYBE THE BIGGEST SNUB IN THE HISTORY OF THE GRAMMYS. No joke. People were outraged, and it made the Grammy brass look just about as stupid as when they decided not to televise the rap/hip hop award. Rap artists boycotted the Grammys until they put the award ceremony on the air. So that is how Jethro Tull is best known in the U.S. Not for their good music but for their ties to Metallica and the Grammies. Peace! _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like...
