JamiroFan's yummy review of "Charlie"!
Hello,
Well, as I said, here's my review of pretty much the best "Live action" movie of the summer so far:
JAMIROFAN'S REVIEW OF "CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY":
You know, most members of my generation still have the classic Gene Wilder/Wolper rendition of the Roald Dahl classic "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory" enblazed in our memory. And given Hollywood's current decline on "original ideas" for new movies, they have captured loads of "old bits" of movies and have been "remaking remaking remaking" them like a endless conveyor belt in a Nike shoe plant. But I heard that Tim Burton would direct a remake of "Willy Wonka" completely based on the classic tale with Johnny Depp as Wonka, I was very skeptical that they could pull it off.
I am both befuddled and happy to announce that Tim Burton and Depp have done a near flawless adaptation of Dahl and enhanced it for a new generation. Depp's performance of Wonka, more manic and quiet than the Wilder era Wonka, was a delightful change, Depp remarked that be positioned his role more after "Game show hosts" and "Children's TV Show Hosts", and he was spot on (though the parallels between his look and Michael Jackson was creepy!). As for the rest of the cast, top on, they were all good. And Tim Burton pretty much displayed a very twisted, topsy turvy style of the book that was both familiar and new at the same time.
As for the Oompa Loompas, Original Oomper and talented pint actor Deep Long was cloned into infinity by those blasted computers to compliment Wonka's factory number of Loompas. As for the classic Oompa Loompa songs, they have been completely replaced with fresh new songs of several unexpected musical styles (Reggae, Hard Rock, Indian sound and more!) with very good lyrics outlining the gluttony and sorrow of the other 4 snotty kiddies. Movie Score composer Danny Elfman's work on this movie pretty much is his BEST music work since 1991's "Dick Tracy"!
Overall, this movie was great, with a few surprises for Wonka fans who know the first movie really well. I give his movie a hearty 5 tubs of over buttered popcorn out of 5 tubs!
There you go, another movie review complete, I hope you enjoy this movie as much as I did. Take care and more reviews will come soon! Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
Wonka: "With these glasses, you can see the large chocolate bar's molecules flying through the air before they lock together and appear on the telly!"
Mike TeeVee: "No you can't, I don't see anything!"
Wonka: "MUMBLE, MUMBLE....you know I can't understand a darn word that is coming out of your mouth kiddo!" _________________

The thing with me was I loved this book as a kid but I hated the old original film adaptation...!! |

Each to their own I guess, but here's my opinion.
The original had soul, this is another plastic imitation designed to rip cash out of wallets.
As discerning fans of the real deal funksters you should be able to spot a rip off a mile away. _________________ Peace to the Iroquois |

I loved it!
Johnny Depp wasn't very good at his role in my opinion, but the rest was fantastic _________________
