Contribute your questions to the new Jamirotalk interview
.....with PAUL TURNER - bassist of Jamiroquai
Hi party people,
After interviewing the keyboarder , percussionist , and the guitarist of Jamiroquai, it's time to hear some statements from the new funky bassist PAUL TURNER.
The jamirotalk.net team has already thought about some questions, but we decided to get all members of jamirotalk involved in the process of finding questions. Please leave your questions here in this thread.
After a while we will close this topic, compile the team questions and add a "best of" of all your suggested questions to the interview! And then we just have to wait for Paul's answers!!
Let's do it!
What do you want to know from Paul Turner?

Great idea meike
hmmm... but that´s a little bit tricky. ... ´cause he is sooo new!!
well, i would like to ask him :
- has he liked jamiroquai, before he started to be their bass player?
- is he interested to " write" songs for jamiroquai?
- what kind of music does he like ?
- he hadn´t played any song on the new album dynamite.. was difficult for him to learn the songs sooo under pressure ´cause the tour " was waiting"
......
that´s all for the moment... perhaps there will be some more _________________

Meike,
Thanks for letting us contribute to this.
My question would be how long did it take for him to learn the songs: past and from the present album? Did he have a knowlege of them before joining the band, or did he have to learn everything?
How long was the audition process and/or how long were they considering him as the new bassist?
Have a good weekend y'all. _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

Here are my questions:
1. What is the one thing you would like to take with you from this experience playing with Jamiroquai?
2. What were your feelings when you were told that you'll be part of Jamiroquai? _________________ I used to worry about the future
But then I threw my caution to the wind.....
Peace,

Hey!
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity CosmicMouse!
My question is this:
Jamiroquai have had a few different bassists over the years...taking into account the expectations of the fans and the success of the band, do you ever feel under pressure when you perform?!
Claire.x.
P.S. Paul, you're a great bassist! _________________ wouldn't you like, wouldn't you like, wouldn't you like...to shoot the moon tonight? |

Technical Side Of The Bass
I am developing a site named JamiroTabs.com which will host all the old guitar and bass tabs that were once at Funkin.com and also provide equipment information for members of Jamiroquai past and present. I have collected a wealth of information for most Jamiroquai band members except for Paul.
My question for him would be: "What is your bass rig like? What equipment and or pedals do you use on stage?"
Thanks,
Mike Olsen

I would like to ask him:
· which songs are his favorites like to perform live
· which bassists influenced him trough the years |

thanks for this opportunity!
my questions are:
Please tell about the bass players who influenced you when you started and who influences you now. Please say which performers inspired you
to become a musician.
what do you remember about meeting jamiroquai and being auditioned
for the first time?
in your opinion what are the most exclusive things about jamiroquai
music, harmonies and arrangements?
please say about your work with George Michael. When did you play with him and did you record anything with him in studio?
did you listen to jamiroquai albums in 90s? if yes which ones did you like the most?
Is there a jamiroquai song which the band doesnt play live but
you want to perform it very much?
Analyzing Stuart Zender's playing what
things in his style do you like the most? Did you ever meet him
in person? What do you think about Nick Fyffe style?
did you change your bass sound and playing style & approach when joined jamiroquai?
which is the most exclusive vintage bass in your collection?
speaking about your gear: amps, effects and pick ups do you tend more to use oldschool style ones or modern ones?
do you write your own music? do you play other instruments except bass?
do you use a compressor effect playing live? which one?
do you use an envelope filter? which one?
can you say what bass and effects you use when you play "butterfly"?
what bass do you use for tracks with slapping like "mr moon"?
thanks!!
