Von Caroline Werner
Neben aktuellen Chartbreakern wie "Seven Days in Sunny June" gab die Band auch "Space Cowboy", "Virtual Insanity" und "Cosmic Girl" zum Besten.
Gegen Ende der Show wurde es noch einmal sphärischer mit dem Hit "Travelling without moving" aus dem Jahr 1993.

Was it easy to take the camera to the concert?
My sister told me that the security drop your cam if you take one with you... |
taking my camera to the concert was no problem. a friend told me before it wasn't possible, but when asking the security at the hall, they even told me:"digicam? no problem." so everybody, take your cameras to the concerts you're going to visit!!!
btw, the hamburg-audience was a little tired @ the beginning of the concert (so was jay kay, too), but the second half was just great (deeper underground!!! yeehaaaa!!).
bye, peachE |

they didn't really check for cameras but they didn't allow us to use the flashlight and a security guy told another guy that he wasn't allowed to film with his camera.
but i don't know if this applies for all the concerts. the security guys in hamburg seemed to have been on some sort of power trip. we have a suit on! do what you're told! _________________ Dear Auntie Em. Hate you, hate Kansas, took the dog. Dorothy. x |

Ok, here are my notes from the day in Hamburg:
Clarissa (claarend), Stephan (CosmicBear) and me ( ) had a lot of fun in the car on our way to Hamburg - hearing random jamiroquai tracks for nearly 3 hours, singing, laughing, clapping (Little L)... telling Clarissa all jamiroquai related stories from the last tour... warming up for the night!
Arrived in Hamburg at 6 pm... watching the long queue in front of the closed doors...
Had to wait for more than 90 minutes at the back entrance, because we had to pick up our aftershow passes, and the list with our names was still missing and expected to come. Everyone was going in - except the three of us... ... I hate to wait.
So, when we came into the hall at 7:40 pm, it was quite full - no chance for us to reach the first row.
Getting in contact with monsium via sms...they are in the front row!!! I make some bubbles and hope they will see them.
A guy announces about Jay's accident in the bus, and that he still doesn't feel comfortable, but he wants to perform anyways, but will not be able to jump, dance and move as always...
The concert starts. During Enter the dragon the band is coming on stage! Last one is Jay, with a cool red hat... and a bandage on his right wrist.
Fantastic versions of Canned Heat and Space Cowboy!!! It is obvious that Jay would like to dance, but he can't.
WOW, what a light show at CosmicGirl!! I love it!
Trying to make some bubbles, but it doesn't work so good... they are not reaching the stage. The air is too warm, I think... they are bursting very soon. I also don't have a good position to make photos... too far away from the stage this time.
Every song is brilliant, special and not album version like, but with additional breaks, solos and extended parts!! Just great!!
My personal highlights are:
Dynamite ... what a fantastic solo from Matt!!!
Love Blind.... amazing live version of the song! Love it!!
Black Capricorn Day ... so good to hear this track live!
Love Foolosophy ... a really long version, with a great bandmember presentation in the middle. YEAH!!
Time won't wait .... I was so hoping that they will do this one live!! Yes, yes, yes!!! Funny to see, that nearly nobody around us (except Bear and me) could sing along to the song. (Time won't wait is not on the german dynamite album).
Deeper Underground was soooo loud... we were standing right in front of the loud speakers, and the vibration was so hard... I had to leave my fingers in my ears for the whole song. Have never heard anything louder... .. this was the first time I couldn't enjoy that song. Way too loud. I was glad when it was over. Really!!
Our short fan-meeting with monsium, Miss Mary and co. was really nice, but too short, of course. I really had a bad conscience when we had to leave... but we had a good reason...
All the people with aftershow passes should wait at a side entrance to the backstage area. After some minutes we were allowed to go in.
We passed the changing-rooms of the band, waving to Rob, who shouted "yeah, you've made it!!" to me, because he knew that it wasn't sure if I could come to the concert, because of my ill son...
So, then we were waiting in another room for something to happen. Then Jay came in and started to talk to some people. Rob entered the room and came to us. We had a nice chat about different things. The funniest thing was, when we were talking about Erica (Ezbe) who had been texting all the time during the Manchester gig, in order to send the setlist to Ms.P, I think, and Rob had observed her and had been mocking about her during the concert. So, while we were talking about this, Bear called Erica and said: "Here is someone who wants to speak with you" and passed the phone to Rob! He was speaking for some minutes with her. Too funny! What a surprise for Erica!!
Then I gave him the T-shirt, I sent greetings from the whole jamirotalk community and we took the photo!
Later I spoke shortly to Matt, who gave me a hug and promised to come back soon... he was busy with sharing out some bottles of bear.
Then I introduced myself to Derrick. He also got his shirt and we were talking about jamirotalk and he told me that he likes the site (he knows it!!! ) and he wants to post there, but wasn't sure how to register.
Well, now he knows his password, and I really hope he will come soon and will say "hello" to all of you!
I haven't seen Paul and Sola... too bad...
Jay was in the room all the time, and I could hear him telling about his accident in the bus the last night. I got a wave from him.
It was great, but it was over too fast. They had to leave the venue and go back to the hotel, so we had to go before we could meet Paul and Sola (not to mention Jay )...
Maybe we will get another chance one day...
But Rob took my bunch of shirts and promised to give them to the other guys!
Wohoo.... what a night!!! Will never forget this one!
On our way to the car, and on the way home we couldn't stop talking about the evening... it was so perfect!!!

Great review Meike - thanks for that !!
In Düsseldorf Rob got the most applause from the audience when the band was introduced - must be because he is the one who is nearest to the fans and keeps in touch He seems to be a nice guy - I was standing right in front of him and we had some smiles |
