So glad to hear from all of you !!! I think I could write a book about my emotions during this evening - but I'm afraid that would be a little bit boring for you All your reviews are so great and emotional and they really describe my feelings.
Rob you're so right with the thing about Jays little "political speech" - I was also very glad about it and I could share his opinion in every way !!
I love the pix Moni - thank you for that!!!

Funkie Junkie and his friend Speed Freak:
mrsmoon, me and Eric:
That was a funny story, we checked into our hotel, the reception guy (in Jays age) asked about out plans in town...he had never heard of a band Jamiroquai before. 15 Minutes later he told us, that another fan of this group had checked into his hotel. He flew all the way from Sweden to watch that band. Think at this point he already thought, we are all quite mad. And he warned us, when we asked him to contact that Swedish fan: "I must say ladies, he came with a very strange hat." So that's how we met Eric, we all had to laugh a lot.
After the show still in front of stage:

another little story i watched:
jay went into the back.. the band played an instrumental part of..(i forgot which song it was.. ) and then suddenly they started the part where jay has to come starting singing... he came, obviously surprised.. throwing away his still "long" cigarette... and started to sing... he laughed at rob.... saying somethin... and you could see rob is laughing too.. sayiing somthing like "i know"...hahahaa.. i think jay.. told rob : hey.. i havn´t finished smoking..... ..and rob wanted to protect him of lung cancer.... ..
there you could see.. that they ´ve got a very good "partnership"....all sooo relaxed...havin fun... _________________

Hahaha I still look "stoned on this picture" - no wonder I was still deaf and completely powered out!
I wish I could turn back time and relive this day again!!!!

First online media review by "Westdeutsche Zeitung":
KULTUR in DÜSSELDORF

Here is just a short and quick translation, got no dictionary here...hell I am at office but not able to work
Jamiroquai on explosive star trip
The british band presented their sixth album "Dynamite" at the Philippshalle. Frontman Jay Kay gave comments about the political state of the nation:
Düsseldorf: Jamiroquai gets their fans to move. In a unique way "Emergency of planet earth", the first album of the british band recycled in 1993 Disco beats of the 70th mixed with Ethno elements and the voice of frontman Jay Kay. The musicians around the 35 years old, who loves fast expensive italian cars and outstanding hatgear, changed. But the music stayed unique.
In June "Dynamite" the sixth album of Jamiroquai was released and as well explosive was the show , that Jay Kay and his Crew offered at Tuesday evening in the nearly sold out Philippshalle. "Canned heat" was the first title and Jay Kay really had "canned heat" in his shoes.
Like a maniac he danced around stage although he was injured at his hand. He made Pirouettes and stretched out his arms in the air, like a policeman guiding the traffic. Soon the 45 minutes delay of concert start was forgotten.
The programm offered a well chosen mix of older and newer songs, "Space Cowboy" was on the setlist as well as "Cosmic Girl", "Love Foolosophy" or the actual hit "Seven Days in Sunny June". And Jay could rely on his professional band. Rob Harris on guitar and Paul Turner on bass gave many astonishing solo parts, Matt Johnson on keyboards for wonderful harmonies.
Derrick McKenzie on drums and Sola Akingbola on percussion provided the needed rhythms for the faster songs. Lorraine McIntosh, Hazel Fernandez and Sam Smith supported the band background. Not one song sounded like a studio version, but was transported with fantasy into a unique music universum.
Kay, who in his own words feels the real "Funk" of his music, when he is at home in his Buckinghamshire mansion, growing natural vegetables, talks in between relaxed about politics. Germany would be with Angela Merkel like Britain with Maggie Thatcher, hahaha, but now they have Tony Blair, but that would not be much better.
As Intro to "Don't give hate a chance" he talked about terrorism, that uses the vulnerability of open societies for its advantage. And the war like the USA is doing, is no solution. His fans agreed to each of his statements with frenetic applause.
The stage was excitingly futuristic lighted, during "Cosmic Girl" like in a star trip, then at the end with "Deeper Underground" reminding to a green forest hell.
It is understandable that with such a fantastic concert, the wish of the Jamiroquai-fans for a Live Album gets louder. _________________
