Cameras at shows
I was kicking myself for not bringing my digital as clearly that restriction was not enforced at the show. I ended up taking some piss-poor shots with my wife's cell phone cam, a poor substitute.
Can the concert promoting community get some standardization here? Within the past couple of years, I've had the following occur:
1) At Dave Gahan show (Dodge Theatre, Phoenix, AZ), was allowed in with the camera after a perfunctory pat-down ala Nokia Theatre but then when I was seen taking pics (without flash, mind you) during the show security was on my *ss and the only way I could keep my camera was to give the security guy the batteries for the remainder of the show.
2) At Terence Trent D'Arby (yes, that TTD) at HOB Chicago, I was put through a SEVERE pat-down and they would not let me in with the camera. After pleading with them and explaining that I was from out of town, not like I could stick my camera in my car, they took my batteries (for good) and let me in.
I didn't want to risk getting blocked from my first sight of my favorite band in 8-odd years to be ruined just cause I wanted a souvenir pic....better safe than sorry I suppose.
Beware.... |

if anyone knows or hears about the bootleg of the nyc 05 show floating around, please let me know. although i'm not 100% supportive of bootlegs (it has it's pros and cons), tuesday night was one that i want to replay. it was that wonderful.
i tried the official bootleg site of jamiroquai and it's not there yet and i can't listen to those on my pc anyway. i actually want a cd if at all possible.
thanks, deesha
