What does Jay sing at the end of Virtual Insanity???
Hello
I have been listening to 'Virtual Insanity' a many times to day to discover what Jay sings very sightly at the end of the song.
From about 5:10 untill the end of the song (Album version timing), after jay sings "Yes we do!"...
Does anybody knows waht he sings? You can hear it very sightly in the left channel.
Bye |

Now this live that we live in,
it's all going wrong and
out of the window,
you know,
there is nothing worse than
a melting mind,
there is nothing worse than
a foolish mind (heya!)
Virtual Insanity is what we're living in,
yeahehehehea, well it's alright. |

No, no, I'm talking about backing bocals (by Jay) during that lpart you wrote. They sound very sightly. |

Oh yes, well...I think it's "living in Virtual Insanity". But from 5:06 there are also different backing vocals, singing "we all live underground", I think that's what you mean. |

You're right on the BVs. Just one thing, Lydster - isn't the third-from-last line of the section you wrote up 'a foolish SMILE'? that's how I always heard it (plus if those two lines both end in 'mind', he's being very lazy with the rhyme scheme in an otherwise lyrically strong song)...

Well, the very last part doesn't rhyme at all. And what you heard should at least then have been a foolish SHmile (no mistake in my spelling!). And - does that make sense? Any suggestions? |

I don't think it needs to be a word starting with 'sh', because 'foolish' ends in that sound, which is where it comes from. The end of 'foolish' and the beginning of 'smile' merge together.
Having said that, I've just listened to it again and it DOES sound like it could be either 'a foolish mind' or 'a foolish man' more than 'smile'. Never listened to it that closely before. But now I'm not sure about 'a melting mind', hahaha...

it sounds like 'there's nothing worse than a manly man, there is nothing worse than a foolish mind' to me..but then again i could be wrong (it also looks like he says this in the video?). but i don't hear 'melting mind'..either way, it looks stupid written out, haha. |

Yeah right...now that you say it, it really doesn't look like "mind" in the video...but "manly man"? "Melting man"? Himself? By the way, have you noticed that Jay sings "...it's alright now" instead of just "...it's alright" in the video? |

I'm pretty sure it's "nothing worse than a meddling man [as in someone who interferes in other peoples business], there is nothing worse than a foolish mind" |
