Not to be rude, but i have all the CD's and almost all singles....why should i buy this greatest hits?
To complete the collection?? |
Well... Greatest Hits albums always include at least 2 new tracks. And, most of the Greatest Hits released are well received and sell good. And, now with the release of the Dual Disc of almost every of this kind of collections, we can get a DVD with extra material.
I know I'm buying the Greatest Hits.
D! (dyego) |
I will get the cd, even if it was to complete the collection!!!
But the when....that depends on the extra's
And about the extra vid's
Believe that is the one thing he hates doing, he's rather do someting else! |

as i was eating breakfast and brainstorming some wacky ideas in my head..i got to thinking.....what exactly does jay want from SONY?
of course we all know about how horrible SONY is to artists, but what does jay want them to change in terms of their relation to the band? i know what we want...but what does he want? better promotion, more creative control? i'm confused a bit. or does he just want out and never to look back?
i just want to know what exactly is he upset with? |

I am personally vexed with Sony for repeatedly releasing different versions where there is one different track on each. And if you want to acquire all the versions you have to buy two or three releases of the same song.
This is exploiting the real fans, and then they wonder why there are so many illegal copies shooting around, and get all flustered over their copyright.
I am no expert in this, I am sure JamiroFan 2000 is the right person to inform us on this, but he is busy off playing with his MP3 player !!! Will someone rattle his cage !!!
I have a copy of the report where 'Sir' JK voiced his dismay, because I believe it has since been removed from funkin, would you like me to post it here for those who are not fully informed ???

All i remember now is this interview.
He was talking about his creative controll.
He wanted some big marihuana leaves in he back of the video Space cowboy.
But sony said NO, because of the USA ppl.
Believe they got there anyway.....but if you have to fight for something like that...NO FUN |

When your working with a BRAND™ or whatever, it's almost like
your a model. They own you. You shut up and do what they say, because your representing them.
I remember Prince getting completely fed up with the amount of
control that he did NOT have over his own music.
He now completely does his own thing with NPG (his own record company) which is totally supported by fans only! He's not a poster boy for a record company anymore, he IS the record company. Not having to follow somebody elses' rules and ideas, and able to do things the way he wants to do them. Able to express his own vision completely. No Chains.
It's pretty simple to understand really. I mean, just look at Jay, he's unique, He's a model in a sense, well, he is really.
He must feel like....yeah, thanks for all of the money (of course, we'd all be greatful for that) but FUCK, can I do my own thing, get the fuck off my back already.
I mean, money is not everything. You still have to deal with the YOU inside, and nobody wants to be a SLAVE. I don't care how great the pay is.
It just get's hard to hold your head up high you know. And everything becomes less enjoyable when someone is telling you how, when and why to do things. As well as how much time you have to finish your creative process.
I wouldn't last a fucking month. I mean some people just have a talent to crank out shit non stop that will sell. But, they know when it wasn't quite done, or where they cut corners to get the deadline or whatever. I mean, to have a hundred monkeys jumping down your back telling how to express your own shit-FUCK!
It has to mean something to you, you know. You want to get your stuff out the way you want to get it out, you want to be able to say, there, now it's ready. Not have someone else tell YOU when your heart and soul expressions are done or ready, or shit, or masterpieces.
Then again, some people "need" someone to smack em in the face and say, Hay man! It's done already! Someone to keep them on track, someone to sell their stuff, because they're too busy partying or whatever. Someone to keep them on track so that they can make money. You know. It just depends on where you are in your life.
Maybe this is a good thing. Maybe he's ready to market his own shit, his own way. He's got enough fans I think to keep it alive. _________________

I agree. A lot more work, but a lot of freedom. And, a lot of fun as long as you have a lot of smart and loyal friends backing you and keeping ya straight. _________________
