Sorry, I'd just like to add something I forgot the other night. Our enjoyment of this gig was slightly tempered by the guy standing directly in front of Noe. He seemed to be with at least a couple of his mates, and clearly was part of the symptom of Jamiroquai becoming 'cool' in recent years - namely he was there so he could tell his mates 'yeah, I've seen 'em live innit'. Complete gimp. He stood there without moving a muscle to dance, jump, or even clap the entire two-and-a-quarter-hours Jami were on stage, most of the time he wasn't even looking at the stage, too busy texting his mates on his bastard mobile phone! I really did feel like hitting him. Who spends £30 on tickets to go to a gig and then doesn't bother bloody enjoying it when they get there? He wasn't the only one. It's almost enough to make me wish for 1996 again, when people took the piss out of me for being the only kid in school to be a Jami fan.
Fucking idiot (am I allowed to say that, bearing in mind I'm not aiming it at anyone on this forum?).

I have just arrived back in Saudi. I have been literally run off my feet, and I have had a rotten time trying to connect to the internet.
I was there for B'ham, along with Jan (MsP), my husband Mohammed, son Abd Al-Azeez, and daughter Maye.
We were first in the queue for the standing lunies, at 11:00 am. we had a terrific time, and something really weird, ironic and fantastic happened prior to the gig (full details later).
I must write a decent review for you all, and I am so sad that I missed hitching up with our other Jamirotalk fans. At least someone else was on 'duty' up in the seated area.
I nearly exploded with joy when Use the Force was played and then I did explode when it was jammed straight into TWW. It's was undescribable the sheer joy of it.
I spent the whole of SC turned to the row behind me screaming the lyrics out with my Abd Al-Azeez, that's his favourite off Dynamite. It reminded me of the surge of Jamiliness that I felt when VI was played at Clapham, when we all turned towards Cosmic Bear and yelled out the words his favourite M(VI).
My hands were so bruised after B'ham, that when I went to the Dublin gig the inner knuckles of my left hand and the tips of my middle and ring finger on my right hand were still sore. That should be an indicator of how wild we were at B'ham.
Many funks and much love to you all !!!
Full review sometime in the not too distant future.

Correction darlings:
I am suffering from post gig trauma. I mixed up Dublin with B'ham. Use the Force was followed by Foolosophy in B'ham, and by TWW at Dublin.
Both occasions were euphoric for me. But Dublin held the edge because, since receiving my copy Dynamite and being able to enjoy it fully, like my dear friend Meike, TWW is my favourite track too off of our sixth album.
The lyrics to TWW are so true, I can tell you 'till my face is blue !!!
Every second screams listen to your dreams . . . and I will my fellow Jamirotakers, I will.

I am editing as we post, and some of the videos are delightful.
Sadly, a lot of the piccies are very blurred, but I took so many you will be satisfied and more !!!
And I'll shove in the Dublin ones too, they were great.
It seems like a million miles away, and unreal when I look at the photos. It's so hard weaning myself off Jamiroquai a little to get back to functioning as I usually do. But like most things smatterings of abstinence make you crave for more !!!
It was just as amazing to finally meet you and Noe. I had so many emotional unions with Jamily members, I just tear up thinking about when it might ever be possible again !!!
Piccies, piccies, piccies !!! Sorry for the delay - I am literally up to my eyes in it - but I promise as soon as I can.

If any of you remember a guy with a ponytail comin up to the front at the end of Alright and passing an unconcious tall blonde girl over the barrier and then hopping over after her - sad to say that was me and my g/f. Those of you who were there at the front will remember it was stupidly hot and sadly my g/f passed out. However, we only missed Deeper and she was fine after some water and we both now recall the good parts of the gig fondly. It was a shame though, because it was her first time seeing Jamiroquai and I felt kinda guilty because I am the 'fan' and wanted to stay up front even though we had no water. . . eek! Anyhow, many thanks to all the people in the front row who helped me yell and throw things at security who were all just staring into space despite the whole front row having parted and people yelling at them to help us Also thanks to the lady who told us to take her up the front in the first place, I was with 2 mates and we were being kinda dopy and were gonna take her to the back, just shows how you don't think straight in a crisis. . . anyhow great gig aside from this and thanks to all in front rows and at the NEC medical centre for helping us out. |

Now that I'm back home, I can't believe I saw Jami live after so many years waiting to see them funking again.
The gig was AWESOME, though the guy in front of me PISSED ME OFF the entire gig.
Heather: It was lovely to meet you and your family. I'm looking forward to see the pics!
Ms P: We didn't have the chance to talk (since I finished the gig without any voice left) but it was really nice to meet you too.
Kisses to all

Sorry to up an old thread but i havent been online for a while..........
I went to the Jami gig at NEC, first time I've seen the band live, and it was a night I will never forget.
Firstly, El Presidente, a band I knew a little about before seeing them supporting Jami. They weren't bad but I just couldn't wait for them to make way for Jami. "Without you" and "rocket" are decent enough tracks, but all their songs seem to have a "na na na na na" part to them The odd shouts of "you're rubbish" from the crowd were a little uncalled for, but they had a point. 5/10 for El Presidente
Now for Jami. When the theme music of Enter The dragon came on I was busy on the toilet and had to run back to where we were sitting like a pillock. As soon as the guys came on stage I started to feel ill. These guys who have influenced me so much were just a matter of metres away. So ill I thought I was gonna puke so I went back to the toilet and missed the opneing 3/4 tracks The bass of Revolution 1993 got me back to my seat (again) and I was so glad to hear a EOPE era track getting played. Everyone was boogying, the atmosphere was electric. The highlights of the show for me, were Jay pointing at me during FJLIS , the performance of Use The Force, Love Foolosophy and Time Won't Wait. The whole experience was amazing though, wish I could have met some of the guys off here but unfortunately didn't. Overall 10/10 |

Hallo Keiran,
We had a Keiran down on the floor dead centre with us, obviously not you sadly. There were Keiran, his brother James, and cousin Murray, and the girls Lexie and Siobhan.
We, the initial bunch were Jan (MsP), my son, daughter, myself and my husband !!!
My children and Murray enjoyed a photo opp and chat with 'Sir' JK earlier that afternoon when Jamiroquai were leaving after the sound check. Jan and I missed out !!! Jan and I made Jamily famous later thanks to one of the press photographers !!!
Sorry you that you were so busy in the bog - Golden GIG rule No. 1 - minimize consumption to reduce the possbility of missing one second of the gig.
UTF & TWW were probably the highlights for me too.

Hi Little H,
Unfortunately that wasn't me down by you, would have been cool if it was though! Sorry to hear you missed out on having a chat with Jay, I don't know what I would say to him if I had the opportunity I've only ever been to one gig before Jami so daft as I am I drank and ate loads before we went, and paid the price for it! I'm pleasntly surprised they played UTF, wasnt expecting it at all
