Marie Laveux by Cubanisimo... it can be found on the 2CD compilation album called 'Latin Jazz The Essential Album'

If the skies are grey this tune will give you some artificial sunshine.

do you like Latin Jazz Space Clav?
i'm a big fan of it, and in my country, there are great Latin jazz bands... the more known is "Andy Duran and his Latin Jazz Big Band"

Yeah, I love it. I haven't heard of 'Andy Duran and his Latin Jazz Big Band' before though... except for in another post you mentioned him/them. I'll have to check it out.

My wife is 50/50 Colombian/Chilean and she's into Salsa mostly. I've tried to convince her that Latin music is better with a jazzy twist... but without much success. She admitted that some songs I played were good, but too much solos makes her bored (and me excited). I can't help myself over-analyzing stuff and enjoy instrumental "masturbation"... I guess it's a musicians disease to do that. Laughing

She does like Jamiroquai more and more though, and that's a good thing. Smile

Today my recommendation is just about anything by Azymuth.

Check out the albums 'Before We forget' and 'Partido Novo'. both on Far Out Recordings. Excellent stuff. Especially if you have a weak spot for the sound of a Rhodes piano.

Their older stuff is great too. These guys are still going strong at their age (Laughing), I believe they're in their late 50's early 60's.
