Yesterday I recived Give Me A Reason - it sounds like where the funk as a genre goes in 2005! Really different from Funkadrome (as a oldschool funk) and Dynamite (as a someone-says-this-is-funky-but-everyone-who-is-critical-know-this-is-not-as-funky-as-the-first-three). And Pollock`s voice is quite interesting - for me her voices color is between Tina Turners and someone else I don`t remember!
My thoughts after 1st listening.
Did you know that on 2 tracks featuring Sola? |

Real sounds really good. They remind me of early BNH and Incognito, and there's some Jamiroquai in there too although not as much. They have the very same tightness in the groove.
This is a keeper. I'm going to get it from iTunes and probably buy the CD when I find it. I prefer owning original discs rather than files. |

So do I. Either I have to order it online or take a flight to London (I bet it can be found in Stockholm or Gothenburg and possibly Malmoe, but I'd rather visit the UK ). It sucks to live in a country where only manufactured "artists" and scruffy rock bands with no talents are worshipped. |

Well, well, well! I think I just found my next album to listen to! The one thing I noticed when I listened to the clips was that there is a real balance between sound and silence (especially in the slower tunes like Beautiful Sunshine). This is something I don't hear as much of in Jamiroquai's music (though I do not have all their albums, so I could be wrong) Way to go, Real! Sounds like an album to take me right into the weekend, drink in hand and lights down low.
By the way, I am currently listening to a real mixed-up bunch of albums: I am into Earth, Wind and Fire (Faces and I Am), Diana Krall (her new Christmas cd), and Wynton Marsalis (an old taped bootleg). Any other interesting things you are all listening to, aside from Real? I'd love to expand my horizons some more...
Thanks for the intro to a new sound! I may go bankrupt buying all these new albums... |

Sweet! Tomorrow's Here & Far Away sound like they might be pretty good songs. Had no idea they were gonna make another album.
I really like their song Stay (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoCTmG8Y0Js). It's like a musical cousin to Summer Madness. |
