I didn't get the e-mail, but I would love to sign a petition, and I bet I could find a lot of other people to sign it, too. I'm assuming film clips = music videos? I always figured that's what everyone was talking about with film clips, but I wasn't sure (because a clip implies, in the US, only PART of a whole). I was always jealous of those people in Paris that got a FREE video with all the clips! I saw one for auction online, but it's not compatible with US VCRs, and unlike a PAL DVD, I can't rig my system to read foreign VHS.
Anyway, I guess you're starting a petition, and thank you for that. I can't stand trying to download videos.....they're too hard to find, and I have slow connection.

I sent you an email but I'd like everybody to read it.
You shouldn't use the email addresses that appear in the board and reveal them to spammers for your profit. At least you should have used it in private, sending the mails once at a time or sending them as hidden copies.
I love jamiroquai and I think everybody here does but I don't like this kind of intrusion.
A good idea if you want to make money is to invest some money first.

First of all it is not for my 'personal profit', I am gaining no financial profit from this exercise, i thought that it was a fun idea to get going.
If you dont want to revceive messanges or petitions like what you did reveive then i suggest in future that you dont leave your e-mail address on the memberlist. There was a choice and if i'm not mistaken the e-mail addressess are on the memberlist so that fellow jamiroquai fans from around the globe can come into contact with each other.
Ever since i have been a part of this site it has glowed with a real sense of community and we are all sharing something that we have in common. I have always appreciated the way that people have welcomed everybody's ideas and helped each other. Seriously what is your problem.
Sweetsensations if you think that i am invading your privacy then remove your name from a public board! its their by choice! I never took your address without concent because you placed it on show in the first place.
Let me repeat - this is NOT FOR MY PERSONAL PROFIT! How in the world would a high school student from australia find any monetary profit from this? I simply want to see more of jamiroquai and i'm requesting it through sony soho square.
i dont hate you at all, i'm annoyed but thats all. If you werent interested in the petition then you could have easily deleted it and thats the last that you would have heard from me!!! If you are so concerned about spamming and what not then set your e-mail account on a higher mail filter.
Sweetsensations your english was fine, i understood you but i can understand your anger at such an innocent exercise, and it is innocent. I'm receiving no profit from this at all. It's simply a time filler for a series of rainy holidays.

also, This is most certainly about Jamiroquai, They are one of the most versatile, long lasting, dynamic band i have ever come across and i honestly believe that they receive way too little exposure overseas compared to such sickening pop idols as Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake (is anyone else shuddering!)

In the poll you asked if somebody would buy your dvds, my question is they will pay in popcorn or in seeds? no they will pay in money, that's what i call money profit.
The same happens with the ringtones and other stuff that you sell.
My email address is revealed here but that doesnt mean that is ok for you to spread it all over the internet.
If you were sure of what you are saying you wouldn't have asked if there was ok to email people like you did. |

Do you think that 'I' would be getting the money?? No way, like i said. it would go through sony - i seem to remember telling you that i was requesting it through them and getting support through these sites.
Obviously we have to agree to disagree and i'll remember in future not to send you anything because you obviously dont want to see more Jamiroquai things out there, meaning more publicity, meaning more exposure, meaning 'they' earn more money, so they make more albumns so we can listen to more jamiroquai and seeing as this is a jamiroquai website (unless i'm much mistaken) we would like to see as much jamiroquai as possible

I must be honest, I quickly skimmed this topic and really don't know what to make of it. Is the poll question would you purchase DVD that is put out by Sony that consisted of Jamiroquai videos/and what have you OR a independant DVD created by individual fan for sale? I think it was the first part of the last sentence that is true, well, I would purchase a DVD from Sony that had all the Jamirogoodies as a LEGIT release. As for asking people to put their e-mail addresses, that is slightly infridging on privacy, the decision of people putting up their e-mails is THEREs and THEREs alone. If I didn't make any sense in this post, then please forgive, I couldn't make heads or tails of it. There's already one means of getting all the Jamiroquai videos & stuff you need, trading with other fans, just look around, there are alot of traders out there who can help! Peace!

ok...
obviously some people are upset with me e-mailing them. I am only interested in petitions for Legit merchandise and i just want people to understand that, but what i cannot understand is that people are not seeing the innocence of all this. I'm not trying to make money for myself or upset other Jamiroquai fans (i would never want to jeopardise the happiness with Jamiroquai or Jamiroquai websites. If u see the petiton i think i stated that i was requesting this through sony soho square and it was a bid for support.
As for buying merchandise over hte internet, I really dont have the money to be doing all that, i dont feel safe giving bank details over the internet and i have no idea about what media is compatible to my equipment at home and what is not.
So, i guess this is a formal apology to anyone that i have offended. I totally didnt realise. E-mails are left on the member list so that other Jamiroquai fans can get in contact and share things with each other. Only about a thrid of the names are on there so there was a choice whether you could be contacted of not. At the time i thought that it was a good idea. Maybe it was hopeless from the first place and in my obvious lack of tact and stupidity  i've offended the people that i would never want to offend. I'm sorry guys - it was stupid - just forget it ok.
But i just cant understand it! one e-mail to try and get something happening for your guys and the fans. I've only ever seen a couple jamiroquai clips, only seen 1 tv interveiw in my life. Honestly - australian media is plastered with american idols - all i want is to see more jamiroquai and i was certain that others would too. But hey, like sony was ever going to take notice of a teenage australian chick. It just makes me feel so fucking sick that people think that i would deceive them all for a stupid internet petition!!! Y would anyone do that let alone a fan! I'm sorry, i wont do it again - doesnt mean i can understand it.

No offense at all dude, your idea is great, but a better one would've been for a a petition to pass on to Jay to tell him to stop smoking. It's a bad habit, it's dirty, dangerous and he shouldn't be doing it. But the biggest reason for him to not smoke would be that it's ruining his voice. Listen to some of the earlier songs, he used to be able to go high, it would'nt be scratchy, and he would sound clearer. And he used to be able to sing the songs live as they were recorded. Now you listen, he's avoiding the high parts in the songs by replacing them with some repetition of words, or singing it lower or other things like that. I say we should put a stop to this voice suicide, before Jay is using one of those amplifying larynx box things. It's a shame.. :2no:
Maybe I'll start my own petition.. But I don't know what I'll do with it after. Anyone want to help me out?
