New Eclectic Debuts for 2006....
buffaloman_R Hello, buffaloman_R

Smile Yet again, I find myself discovering more and more new artists waiting to leave new fans in baded breaths of joy Smile. I have found 3 new artists that I think will be pretty big or modestly amusing to listen too in 2006, and here they are:

ARTIST: Gogol Bordello
ALBUM: Gypsy Punks (Out Now!)
DESCRIPTION: Take punk music, wrap it into the mysterious muse of Eastern European Gypsy influence, sprinkle in a little melting pot of bluegrass/reggae and you will come up with the frothy and crazy music of Gogol Bordello. Fronted by the whimsical yet scary looking Eugene Hutz, their breakout current album "Gypsy Punks Underdog World Strike" is a scathing voyeur into the trials and tribulations of modern day immigrants under a commoner's guise trying to spill a living in the today world. But you can't deny the infectious "umpa" drums and bass throughout their album, definitely a must listen for any adventrous punk music fan!
KEY TRACKS: Sally, Avenue B, Start Wearing Purple & 60 Revolutions

ARTIST: We Are Scientists
ALBUM: With Love & Squalor (Out Feb. 27th UK, Jan. 10th US 2006)
DESCRIPTION: Weird exchange in successful garage rock bands seems to be going on between America and Britain, I'll trade you a Bloc Party for Green Day and so forth. The next great American export of garage are the 3 young lads of We Are Scientists, more thought-probing rock for the kiddies to revel in. A Very very strong debut from these "Ben Folds" clones!
KEY TRACKS: The Great Escape, Inaction & This Scene Is Dead

ARTIST: Morningwood
ALBUM: Self-Titled (Out Jan. 10th US 2006)
DESCRIPTION: Forget the immediate gimmick of the female lead singer's bouncy breasts, close your eyes and listen carefully, this new band really hits the "Blondie" Influence pretty well! Morningwood's self-titled debut is a straight forward new wave album, passioned for roller rink goers, but is still really fun to listen to! Solid Debut!
KEY TRACKS: Nth Degree, Take Off Your Clothes & New York Girls

There you go, hope those new music suggestions for beginning session of 2006 stirs up some good vibes! Thanks for listening and Peace!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

All 3 of these bands are getting major airplay on 89.3 the Current (which is also the only station that plays any Jamiroquai these days). If it weren't for this station, I'd never hear of any of these bands. They play some great stuff and it's commercial free, because it's member supported (but not like Sirius or Xm, because it's on a normal radio). Listen online for free at
http://minnesota.publicradio.org/radio/services/the_current/

Then click on the launch audio streams link. For every 10 songs, about 8 or 9 out of 10 you'll have never heard of, but I think you'll like it. Have a good weekend y'all.

Our radio's stations are trippin' hard this way.
