I think it's safe to say you won't be seeing Stuart Zender return to Jamiroquai...I think Jamiroquai is far behind him, and now his work with his missus, Mel Blatt is due to be released soon, as well as other work he has in the pipeline such as LEROY...
I would like to see Zender back just as much as you guys, but i really dont see it happening...

why being so pessimistic about a Stu return. Looking at some recent pics here in this forum it seems that they get along rather nicely. These king for a day lyrics...."....no reconciliation...." were written like 5 years ago. things change. jamiro has announced a return to the roots too...couldn't that imply a return of the old members? (how about some tobby too...?). guess this is like a huge dream just because i'm such a Stu fan.
and what's going on with this Leroy project of Stu's any way? is it like another Azur project...meaning no ending?!!?!? haven't heard anyth new for a real long time.
just dreaming i guess! wonder what nick will be doing now. he was really a funky guy....let's hope he comes up with sth groovy in the future. and who ever this new bassist will be....i can't wait to hear him, must be funky to play in a band like jamiro!

not wanting to be ignorant and all, but can anyone tell me what's the story on stu leaving jamiroquai?
what really happened? is king for a day a "vengance song"?
please let me know, this is one of the stories i would like to hear about jamiroquai, since stu has a really big legion of fans...
I am really sad with nick's exit...i really admire him..not many one-eye blind people can play bass guitar as well as him (if you know any, please tell me who) but i'm sure the new guy will be as good..maybe better? From the instrument players, I like derrick and sola the most, since i'm a drum player, i would never be able to think the same of jami if they ever leave..they're the reason i like it so much...
anyway, i've begun to 'waffle' too much...
if anyone can answer me regarding stu and all, please leave a reply in this 'announcement post' or if you prefer, PM me..

Stu quits becouse:
a)Stu wanted more time to spend with is doughter 
b)Money problems with JK 
c) I rode in an e-mail posted by Stu somewhere where he said that the split was becouse JK wanted to add more electronic-digital-keyboard bass in the tunes.

Just wanted to share some thoughts about the new bassist ALEX...
We still don't know his surname. Some of you are speculating that it could be ALEX KATUNICH from Incubus. It's possible, yes.
But when I heard that his name is ALEX, I thought of another one:
Could it be that the new bassist of Jamiroquai was the Australian Funk Bass player Alex Hewetson?
When Stu left, Mr. Hewetson got a callup to fly to London to tryout for the position in Jamiroquai's lineup. (yeah, I refound that info in the archive of funkin.com)
Maybe he got the job this time??? 
Alex Hewetson has a huge list of performance and recording credits to
his name including "directions in Groove" (d.i.g), Don Burrows, Vince Jones, James Morrison and Savage Garden.
He is called to be one of australias best funk bass players!
Well, tomorrow is the concert in Istanbul. Tomorrow at this time we will know more about it!
I was only thinking loud, I really don't know who will replace Nick.

Stu Zender
Stuart Zender is the consummate Jamiroquai bassist...
Here's hoping this new guy will have something of the finesse and
fluidity that Zender had.
Nick Fyffe was good, but I felt he never had the easy feel..esp comparing him live to Zender live. Nick had a clinical kinda textbook feel but Stuart had, in my opinion, more flavour to his sound and playing.
max props to Nick tho

Not much infos, only one turkish fan has confirmed that the new bassist is called Alex and sounded really good.

Sorry, but it still won´t get into my head that nick has left the band  
 i really get a feeling like...... difficult to explain .....
but i think it´s no longer true that jamiroquai is a band....
jamiroquai is jay kay.... that´s it. ....
everybody is replaceable .... even toby smith... who was one of the most important persons of "jamiroquai sound" (that´s what i thought)....
Now nick has left.....replaceable!!!
so is simon....
what about derrick and sola.... those "dinosaurs".....the only "old ones" in the group ....
so let´s accept that jay is jamiroquai ....
no problem for me......
but isn´t it a little bit sad....that every member of your favourite group is replaceable.... without jay of course.... 
hmmmmmm.....
