Associated Press video and interview
| Quote: |
The Associated Press news agency have made available a news video about the release of Dynamite which contains a short interview with Jay. In the interview Jay talks about why Feels Just Like It Should was the first choice of single on Dynamite. He also talks briefly about the paparazzi and how he would like to keep his private life private, away from the public eye.
The video is available to watch at the HamptonRoads.com website |

Thank you Fra for sharing this.
Personally, I am very glad that FJLIS was the first single. It stirred interested in the jazz cynical critics of Jamiroquai and proved that Jamiroquai are more than just jazz.
And one of these is my daughter used to hate Jamiroquai, but even before she saw them live in concert she melted to FJLIS and appreciated that 'Sir' JK and Jamiroquai as a whole are geniuses !!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!
Tonight she called me into the office and she had a CD going in the PC and asked me what was the name of the Jamiroquai track that was playing. It was Love Foolosophy, part of a Various Artists compilation disc. Her infection with the real groove increases, as 50 Cent and Britney Spears CDs gather dust !!! ja, ja, ja !!!
This is the revenge of the Space Mother !!! )))) h |

I was very opposed to FJLIS as the 1st release, mainly because I thought it was a poor representation of the album, but also as a song, I don't think it demonstrates Jay's talent as a jazz vocalist (refering to his vocal range and his fantastic ad-libing) However, after hearing that interview, I completely understand why he chose it as the first single and I definitely agree with him--I have an entirely new perspective now, thank you to whoever asked him that question! |

Heather, what on earth are you on about? Jamiroquai haven't done anything on their albums which could be described using the word 'jazz' since ROTSC...
And remember, I'm a proper jazz snob.

Acid jazz (also known as groove jazz or more recently club jazz) is a musical genre that combines jazz influences with elements of soul music, funk, disco and also 90s English dance music, particularly repetitive beats and modal harmony. It developed over the 1980s and 1990s and could be seen as taking the boundary crossing of jazz fusion or Jazz-Funk onto new ground.
