fyi - a double release and a double album aren't the same thing.
a double release would mean 2 different albums/CD's would be released separately. they would be competing with each other.
a double album would mean 2 separate CD's would be released in the same package together.
and just to throw this in there, a dual disc is one CD that has 2 different functions (CD, DVD), but it is one release and not a double album.
they could always market it as a release with an included bonus CD also. like that TWM edition. |
Correct. When I said double realease I meant double album. |

I stole this from the RHCP review, but I thought it was really, really well put and kind of applicable here, if indeed a double album is on the way, which we don't know..but just for fun
"Double albums can be fearless declarations of self-indulgence, an idea dump for a band looking to expand its boundaries, give the secondary members a few chances to songwrite." _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

Well, I think It's kinda applicable as for Jamiroquai members haven't been in the band since the start... But It's not for RHCP as there are no secondary members... Just for the record, since Mother's Milk They sign for all the tracks

Yes but by 'secondary members' they basically mean the ones who aren't the lead singer. Contract status isn't what's meant there, Orlan.
And Deesh - thanks for your explanation of a Dual Disc! Here was me thinking it only had one function - to get yet more money out of silly, free-spending fans who've already bought the exact same album 6 months previously!

Re: a big rumor about next album
20 songs would be nice, above all if 10 of then are completely new _________________

you learn something new everyday, now don't you sam?
not so much the same if the album 6 months previously doesn't play anything when it's put in the DVD player.
not only that, but the album that was available here before the dual disc came out didn't have TWW on it unless you bought the import for some ungodly price. so, again the album wasn't the same.

first off... I can't believe this discussion is even happening, for one, I think Catman knows exactly what a 2-CD set release is, so I don't know how he could be 'confused' about that, secondly, with all of the extra tracks, promos, b-sides, remixes, and instrumentals that they have put out, why would it be so hard to believe that they would have a few if not 10 new or unreleased tracks???
and have we yet to get 411 on where this rumour supposedly originated from????
and I think that as big and corporate as Sony is, Jay still has a shitload of creative control.....plus how else would we have all of the numerous releases then?? but I guess it's nice to ponder on the uncertain. i just hope they won't let us down!!!!!!!
(now I know somebody wants to just vent all over my comments) |
