Well, I don't understand the reason for Nick leaving but so be it. He was good and all but certainly not a Stuart. Then again, maybe it's just the new sound Jamiroquai is producing just doesn't allow the bass to shine like it did before. The bassline for Space Cowboy or Morning Glory is just down right sexy. Hell, anything with Stuart sounded amazing. Hopefully the band will go with the Acid Jazz route on the new album and allow the bass to really stand out again. |

Nick leaves Jamiroquai
Every time I get the news that a Jamiroquai member is leaving the band I ask myself "why?". Stuart left, Toby left, and now it seems Nick left too. When I think about those great musician leaving the band I ask myself also if it not 'cos of Jay's whim. The man turns difficult some times....
Kisses to all

I sometimes thought about that too and always asked myself if it is because of Jay being not easy to take. But I then always wonder why Derrick and Sola hold out so long I really don't know and it's not possible for someone who isn't in the band or is very close to them to know how the climate is in the band and how they treat each other |

I think there's one other thing to mention.I think it's kinda hard to do all the touring ...be separated from family,friends..all you see from places you travel through is hotel room and stage....and it lasts almost a year
I was always thinking what these things can do with relationships in the band with attitudes which they have to the music and performances..
Fortunately they never seemed to be bored when they played e.g. like 775th show
I must admit I can not imagine such a life like this and I admire those who can and I completely understand those who left ...for any reasons
....and I'm soooooooo curious about Alex Jamiroquai's sound always needed a good bass player...
have a nice day

*sniff*
hey guys, sorry i haven't been posting in yonks!
i've been really disheartened by nick's early retirement from the band. my little sis had a huge crush on him (she wanted to take my picture of him and me in singapore and make me publicize it as though we were an item! i WISH... ) i was really inspired by his humble entrance into jamiroquai, and suddenly he's leaving those dreams behind. oh well, it was great to have him around while it lasted, having the opportunity to meet him as well as Toby are memories i'll surely cherish.
all the best in your greener pastures, Nick! |
