So, erm, are we only meant to be painting a really positive, glowing picture of our Great and Glorious Funky Leader, then? All smiles and fluffy little kittens and kindness?
I'm not that bothered about it and I've not watched it, but if it concerns Jamiroquai (or Jay, since this is 'his' section of the forum) and people want to share it... why not?

Ok let me try to explain what I exactly meant.
I know people want to share this kind of stuff. But the purpose isn't always the good one. Bringing it as 'news' then I can understand, but it often happens that people are making fun of this kind of things or people are just looking for 'sensation'.
Of course I know Jay is a famous person and he know that he's in the spotlights 24 hours a day and that he have to behave himself on camera, etc. Lots of people are getting drunk in the weekends and some of them are getting into trouble, but Jay knows that when it happens to him it will be zoomed in a thousand times more. So it's not smart of him, I don't think he's proud of this. And we couldn't be either. When it happens to yourself you won't be proud of it too, so why make fun about it? |

I don't think people are making fun of him at all - it was an interesting video to see - it clearly says in the topic subject that it's a paparazzi video with Jay losing his temper, so we all knew that it wasn't going to show Jay in the best light, so it's up to people to decide if they want to see it or not.
Also, he was in a public place and knew the paparazzi were there and he could of just gone straight into the car and it wouldn't have been anything interesting at all - but he was in a bit of a tizzy and had a go at the paparazzi (which is exactly what they're looking for) and now it becomes 'news worthy' for the fans.
If it was a video that was taken from a secret camera in a private place, then yes, it wouldn't be appropriate to show it on the forum, but he was in public place and was quite well aware that there were cameras & video cameras.
We all know that Jay has a temper, it's written about in all the papers, so it's nothing new to the fans, but we also know that he is a kind, caring, talented and compassionate person and we see that also in articles as well as testimonies from the lucky fans who have meet him in person.
So what I'm trying to say is that seeing this video doesn't detract anything from the way I feel about Jay and the band, it just shows another side to Jay (a human side) that I haven't really seen before, but doesn't mean I don't like them any less

Well put, Samantha. As I said, I'm not interested in the video myself at all (normally I just come onto this forum and check off all the 'unread' posts because I prefer my board to look nice and tidy and all 'read'), but if we're going to accept that people are human, why only try and portray the good side?
