In JT's video for 'Cry Me A River' There is a scene with Canned Heat rip off moves! Instead of going down the stairs he does a Jami-ish pose and flies down them. I got so mad. I find that Justin Timberlake dresses like Jay too. I wonder if JT's idol is Jay! Who knows? |

Justine Limberstealer....
Hello everyone, :bm_r:
Hope everyone had a good weekend, mine was GREAT, got a nice DVD player, plays every format and I'm in heaven, the original DVD player didn't play my Jami VCDs well, but this the new plays them like, two words, LIKE BUTTER! Anyhoo, I know what your talking Missiroquai, I absolutely can't stand that music pirate Justin Timberlake, biggest co-opeter of the black culture with giving out the proper props. One prime example of this is when I was watching the god awful MTV Video Music Awards, he didn't give out enough thank yous to the people who came before him, just stood up there on stage acting like a idiot yammering on and on about being in total awe of other artists. I've always why all the REAL musical artists(This year, The White Stripes, Radiohead, Coldplay, Johnny Cash and others) who actually have something to sing about win the lower technical awards on the VMAs, and the all the untalented ones get the big awards (50 Cent being a exception), all money now & creativity taking a backseat, real sad ! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

I actually like the Michael Jackson Mini-me. He has on other shows given crazy props to Michael and Janet though, and you can really tell those are his greatest influences. His rock your body video is just a remake of "Don't stop till you get enough". I think a collabo between him and JK would be pretty good (ok, don't hate me y'all!!)
Hey Jamirofan, where did you get the DVD player? and does it work on a regular NTSC TV? _________________ Enter the mind of the coolpoet:

i actually like JT singles, when your a club dancer like myself and when you get a jamiroquai tune on the floor, you have to get up there and strut your stuff, i do feel the same with a JT song, ok ok they aint as good as jami songs but they have a beat that is reconisable.
at least we can say jay's dance moves are from the heart in all of his videos but jt's are all chorographed,

Bitter...
I can't even be in the same area code where any of Just-a-Timberlame's crap is playing..."blatent rip-off, blatent rip-off, blatent rip-off!"

I was impressed by the performance at the grammys. He plays keyboard (which is more than I can say for lots of pop stars), and he had Arturo Sandoval come play with him. That was pretty hot.
I think JT's "Rock Your Body" is a dance mix must, along with "Canned Heat" and "Little L", of course. That's just me, though. |

I have a problem with this guy... when he dances (specially in the video of ´Rock Your Body´) it reminds me to Jay Kay...don't know why!!!
It´s not an insult for JK, of course, hehe.
But I have to say, I bough´t Justified and I like it .
And the video of ´Rock You Body´ is similar to Little L....and now The Neptunes are going to work with Jamiroquai...
Mmm.....too many coincidences... |

Xerox...
Us true Jamiroquai fans should stick together and boycott "Xerox" artist, (if I can even classify him as an artist) like Just-A-Busta. Not only does his blatent biting tarnish the Jamiroquai rep, but it should also piss off fans because this guy does'nt wanna work and gain his own style he'd rather press command (C) on the best style in the world "The Jamirostyle"!!!
Please don't support him until he is working at your local car wash, where most boy band members end up!

I think we should remember that back when Jamiroquai first started many people accused Jay Kay of ripping off Stevie Wonder, and other great black artists. I think we, as Jamiroquai fans, don't believe that is true, and furthermore believe that Jay has proven himself not only worthy of making so-called "black music" but also that he has great credibility as a songwriter.
I'm certainly not trying to say Justin Timberlake is a great music innovator, but maybe we should cut him some slack, as Jay Kay received (and needed). I too was very skeptical of Justin Timberlake's worth as an artist, but I have been over time convinced that some good stuff may be yet to come, and I have tried not to simply write him off as an unoriginal pirate. |

Point well taken but...
It's understood that the public/media scrutinized jamiroquai for making yes "so called black music" and as a black man I always thought "so what" even before I was die-hard. Jay overcame that label because he was just trying to make his own sound which happened to be influenced by soul and "f*ck what everybody else thinks". Jay was bred into jazz and r&b it started with his mother...there are countless reasons why Jay crushed that label and that's one of the main ones.
It's one thing to be carted around as a young child to various jazz clubs to watch your mother perform even when you don't want to in order to gain soul. It is another thing to be on the Mickey Mouse Club, in a boy band then then go solo and hire some of the BIGGEST names in the bussiness to produce & write your record, design your wardrobe and not to mention coreograph your dance moves.
Jay's band has always been Jamiroquai without a team of super-producers severely reworking the sound, his songs have always been written by him and his dance moves have always come from the heart.
You like Just-Incredibly-Lacking because The Neptunes produced his yes "bangin' beats", you like the videos because the coreographer was yes "workin' sh*t" and his clothes are "oh so trendy" but take all that away and what do you have...
Another Arnold from different strokes maybe, how about the kid from silver spoons...I dunno you pick one! _________________ "I never realized it but, it's funny how a 35 year old drink can be better than sex!" |

Just bought the DVD:
Justin Timberlake - FutureSex/Loveshow
Live from Madison Square Garden 2007
Great gig, great show, excellent band!
I really love this dvd. So if you like the music Justin makes, then this is a recommendation for sure. |

Maybe it's an urban legend, maybe not, but his first album was originally produced by the Neptunes for MJ, but he refused it, then they offered it to JT, and the rest is history... |
