Yes! This is what I've been saying since months before the World Cup started! At last I can see a non-boring non-typical final!
Love it, just love it _________________

France did it!
I am so proud of my country and the French team.
Nobody thought in the world that they will come to the final. For example, Spanish press whiwh wanted to make Zizou retire...
I went to the most beautiful street of the world , l'Avenue des Champs Elysées. And there was the mess... About 500000 people I think, maybe more. Cars were shaked, the "Marseillaise" was sung so many times, "Zizou" was shouted by every person present there. In fact, the street was in blue, white and red.
I didn't dare to take photos, it would be easy to stole the camera, but I hope with my post I can make you live this moment as I lived it.
So like you said FRA, again France-Italy...
We won in 98', we won in 2000... And I think we have the skills to beat the Italian team one more time (I hope that)
Like we say in France, never 2 without 3 |

Very true! Curiously, 2 countries that no one expected to reach the finals... Talk about surprises!
I think Italy will win fairly easily. They played brilliantly against Germany and it's their first final since 1994, so the Italians are very motivated. France beat Brazil and Portugal, but it's interesting to notice how hard it is for them to score a goal with the ball ''rolling''. They usually score with the ball ''still'' (penalty or foul). [I hope you understand what I'm saying, since I'm translating from Portuguese and don't know the equivalent in English].
I was really sad to see Portugal go. I admire Scolari and I really wanted Portugal to reach their first final. I think they'll have a hard time equaling 1966's 3rd place. Germany will fight with all they've got to grab the 3rd place, so I predict Portugal to end up in 4th place. It's still pretty good, but somewhat sad and disappointing. It seems that Portugal is always ALMOST getting there: Euro 2004 in Lisbon - vice-champions; WC 2006 - 3rd or 4th place (more likely). |

The English is 'set piece', or 'dead ball'. The opposite is when the ball is 'in play'.
Not much sympathy for Portugal here! They spent the whole tournament diving and Ronaldo will be lucky to get away from his first training session back at United in one piece.

Absolutely right. It wasn't a typical German team, was it? We've seen a World Cup during which the Germans have played like the Dutch, the Dutch have played like the English, and the English have played like the Germans.
And yet at the end of it it's STILL Germany who get the furthest. You'd be mad to let Klinsmann go (although one bad result and the papers will be screaming for his head again, no doubt!).
