Deeper Underground vs. Hella Good
Is it just me, or does it sound like No Doubt's Hella Good rips off the riff from Deeper Underground???

Maybe it's just me, but they sound awfully similar.

What do you think?

Man you dont know how right you are...

If thats the song with the video of the group on jetskiis... then yea your right... I felt the same way when i first heard that song(even though i dont listen to that type of music) but yea when i first heard it is said to myself "wtf, this mess sounds just like deeper underground" and then i started to laugh out loud, then i looked around for reassurance, and then to my dismay, i was alone in my room...

i ranted off... ok but yea man i registered to the forum just to agree with you lol Laughing ... 1post...

Also i think its because the Neptunes collaborated (is this the right word) with them... so that may be the reason...

What about Justin Timberlake
Don't you guys think..maybe I'm wrong but the video for Justin Timberlake's Rock Your Body is similiar to Little L? The whole club scene, floor lighting up etc...except his moves aren't that cool. Neither is the song. Oh and yes I do think Hella Good sounds VERY much like Deeper Underground.

Jay and Justin
Yeah, many times we have talked about similarities with Justin, and when I first watched the Rock Your Body video, I really tought it was Little L. And maybe I`m just being paranoid, but don´t you think that sometimes he tries to make the same JK movements (I mean, only a few times during that video it looks like that).
And I am not very sure about Hella Good... maybe some instruments sounds like Deeper...

Jt imitating JK??
Ok, I was able to download the Rock your Body Video on Rollingstone.com and examine it closer. It's actually more similiar than I originally thought. Although it's not an exact replica, there are enough similiarity's to make you take a second look. I mean, does he have to be dressed in white too?! Does he have to attempt the same moves? Don't get me wrong, I don't think Justin is a no-talent. At least he doesn't where a hat or a striped shirt. But please people please can we get some originality here? Maybe the director/choreographer is a fan of Jamiriquai? Who knows.

Haven't ever seen the ROCK YOUR BODY video, so I can't comment on that.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the similarity between the two songs.... I don't think it's grounds for suing of course, but I can't help but think that No Doubt heard Deeper Underground at some point and eventually thought they had an original idea.
