Shouldn't they remaster EOPE & ROTSC???
buffaloman_R Hello, :bm_r:

While listening to "EOPE" on my way home from work last night, I had me another one of my infamous brainstorms tock tock . I was thinking, the audio quality of EOPE isn't as good as the other albums, it's a bit quieter if you know what I mean. ROTSC is a bit louder in sound quality, but still has that "audio pause" like EOPE. I really would like to see Sony, not right now, but in the future rerelease EOPE & ROTSC in special remastered editions with expanded art booklets and correct lyrics for all the songs (Not like the snafu lyrics in the Aussie copies of ROTSC!). I mean, there's so many sounds and things in the albums that can only be picked up after repeated listens to the them, I would like to hear them all the first time in remastered, high quality rereleased albums. Leave your thoughts if you agree me fellow JamiroTalk users Wink. Thanks for listening and Peace!

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

They deserve proper remaster edition releases!!!

I never though about this, but now that you mention it... is a really good idea!
Nice post, Jamirofan.

Scam
The only major problem I have with the first two albums is the mix of "Scam" on ROTSC. The trumpet solo is kind of quiet, and the nice guitar that follows (which is the closest thing to a melody in this part) is almost inaudible.
By the way, who played guitar on this track?

Probably Simon Katz (else Gavin Dodds)

Not a bad idea JamiroFan... There's also a lot of noise at the beginning of Space Cowboy, and I cant imagine that it was done on purpose. (though these old analog synths that Toby used do bring a lot of noise-problems with them). But anyway, what I wanted to say was that, if they will ever do such a thing, I hope they will wait till the Blue-ray discs are standard (instead of the old CD)...Blue-ray discs have a looooot more capacity on them, than ur avarage ol' CD. Which means that the sound quality is getting a lot better because they can store the digital info (the music in this case) with a lot more samples. So the music will sound a lot fuller, and better because of the higher freq. rate....well anyways...

Hum.....
If you can get Jay´s old voice there´s no problem with me in re-doing the two first albums.
Anyway, I´m agree about that bad-production stuff you´ve been talking about.
In a non jamiroquai forum (a bass forum) a guy (no fan, so he was talking objetivelly (does that word exist in english? Embarassed ) ) said that the best sound you can get ever doing an album is the one you can hear in A Funk Oddysey. If you think about this, you really can admire the "clean" sounds of the last album. I agree to what you guys are saying. Like every time i listen to one of the albums i always pick up something new in a song like someone moving. But it would be really cool if they did re-released the first to albums. But don't they do that after a certain amount of time or when the band whats to redo them??

I think the idea was about remastering the first two albums, not to re-record them. Although that would also be interesting but I personally am against all kind of remakings e.g. some new versions of songs. The originals always sound better no matter how hard they try.

Remastering is also a risky business, there's always the possibility that the original dynamics are gone when everything is about the loudness-compressions nowadays.. (quiet hard to explain this in english.. )
