Hello 
Today i try to put my photo to my avatar , i made the resize , to the dimentions and everithing,but when i save it  the avatar as allways more than 8 kb.
 Well one advise , to want to make one : Save always at *gif the quality is similar , and the effect is the same. One progam like Photoshop (i use it,and it's a very good program, to edit your photos is the best  )could help you , not with PaintBrush 
Now i have a nice avatar

If you want the filesize of the photo to be less than or equal to 8kB, you should save it in Adobe Photoshop with "Save picture for web..", then save it as .jpg and you can put the quality down, untill it will have the right filesize. You can also give the amount of kB's, and then it will automatically compromise the picture so it has that filesize (but quality gets less of course).
