Derrick McKenzie
Excellent drummer in my opinion! I really love the interplay between drums and bass, you know what I mean?
And I also dig the fantastic duetts with Sola! What a beat! Very cool!

Story I read about Derrick......
At Derrick's first Jamiroquai gig (in Paris, 1994) he was whacking the skins so hard and with such enthusiasm, he had to have his aching arms sprayed with Raljex!

Just found another interview of Mike Dolbear at DRUMS it was after the B-Live:

I found this interesting "I wrote three tracks on this album which originally were just ideas to give to Jamiroquai but what I did was just re-adapted them and re-wrote them and gave them to Francis and he really liked them. "  Derrick talking about the french singer Francis Lalanne. So Francis has songs who where actually for Jamiroquai

Wow thanks Space Clav!! amazing!! 
I have to say that probably Derrick has always be my " fav. band member" mostly beacause he's quiet (not a Diva I mean) and a nice person, and x sure for the energy and passion he put in his playing!
Keep going Derrick, we'll be all next to U!!

the great thing with derrick is that he has a very personal contact to the fans...not only a great musican..also a very good person with a big hear

yep, i can't agree more with all of you...
for me, Derrick is unique... i mean, the power he spread while playing is incredible! he can be 3 hours playing, and the performance is still the same! he's a powerful drummer, a thing Nick Van Gelder does not have... Nick is more quiet.. for me, Derrick McKenzie is the Verdine White of Earth, Wind and Fire, they two together must be amazing!
