In a way im sorta glad Jamiroquai aren't as well known as they maybe should cuz it seems to make being a big fan a bit more special then say if you were a big U2 or Coldplay fan?
Anyway I (think) I know what i mean!
But there's no question the the band deserve to be up there at the top! Im just sorta glad that they aint! _________________ 'This is the world he wants, pray for the brave and the young...' |

not that! lol
i love the sound from the funk to the disco! but i don't only listen this tunes...there are more kind of songs that i like to listen , electro , rock , punk , house , chillhout , jazz...uff.
we all should listen all kinds of music , to when someone talk with us about some other non funk~disco band , we know what he's talking about!
i may don't like the sound from MM, SOAD, wathever but i know they work ,respect the work and who likes them / fans! _________________ hooked up |

I think the situation in Sweden is that quite many people (at least those who's past 20) know about Jamiroquai, but just forgot about them. Because here you never hear anything about them (at least not me ) nowadays. The last time I heard them on the radio was in 2001 (Little L) _________________ Sarah |

I think that the problem here in the U.S. is that young people are so easily molded by what the record companies want you to hear - the commercialized, over produced sounds of essentially talentless, yet good looking 'artists'. Hip-hop/R&B and pop/rock rule the airwaves and television sets, and not much else has room to shine. Not enough people within the 13-25 yr old demographic are into funk, electronic, or soul records. Jamiroquai also are not heavily marketed here - I've never seen a commercial for their albums, or heard them on the radio. Back in 97-99 you could see Virtual Insanity and Canned Heat on MTV, but that's about it. When people learn that I love the band, they always think they only have made two songs, maybe three (Virtual Insanity, Canned Heat, Deeper Underground) and then disappeared. |

Here in Poland JMQ was popular in about 1994 - 1998 Now many people don't remember them, they were listened in high schools that time, now not many young people even recognize them! :/
Last week I made 'rar' with most popular songs (hits ) and called it "Jamiroquai for dummies " - I uploaded it to Rapidshare and put the link in description in my messanger - I hope someone downoladed it, even if the cause was pure curiosity _________________

I know in America, he isn't that factory polished sound/look. I htink the only reason I've heard of him is b/c I'm in Chicago, love house music and found out about him through that genre. |

Jamiroquai are quite unknown where I live. Whenever I show people their music they either go 'Hey! I like it!' (VERY rare occasions) or go all like 'OMGWTF WHAT IS THIS F_CKING SHIT BASTARD' (Oftenly). Close-minded conservative little freaks... And what's worse is that they all are wathing some goddamn channel called 'Pink', which is the Serbian MTV, though MTV really isn't THAT bad.
...Well, that's what you get when you live as a reformative individual in a culturally closed country led by idiots. |

Yeah, I work at Fred Meyer (Grocery Store), in the photo/electronics department and we only have Dynamite and TWOM, thats it. I did look through our computer though, and we have a TON of singles we could get (including the box set- $95.00). I just think pop culture needs to get there heads out of un-creative hip-hop beats and over produced garbage albums that seem to sell for millions here. I really hate what mass music has become-- Where is the talent? The creativity? We need more jamiro-esque bands! |
