Jamie Lidell
Hmm....he's from the UK so I'm sure lots of you guys have already heard of him. If not, check out the song "When I come Back Around." It's one of the badest tunes I've heard in a while! |

Last night Claudia and I went to see Jamie on this boat that looked like it was going to break down on us! We cruised by the Statue of Liberty and all that stuff ...I have pictures and such, but Claudia is making breakfast, so I gotta go. But he loved the personalized 'Cover Your Lover' bag and the condoms I gave him and we both got to sing with him AGAIN. I'll see him in November for the last time, but that is right in my hometown.
Thank God he's so unpopular that tickets for his concert are so damn cheap!
Oh, and we got to meet DJ Afro from Los Amigos Invisibles and get a picture with him. Ed, we were going to get an autograph and something for you, but no one had a pen.
Okay, more when the weekend is up. I think we should open a concert reviews thread just for "other" concert reviews. Oh, I'll do that when I return.
Have a good weekend again, Deesh _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

Great minds think alike, Deesha! I've been thinking the exact same thing; you can expect plenty of contributions from myself! It's going to be a busy autumn for me where gigs are concerned. To begin with : Incognito and Omar!
It sounds like you had a wonderful evening.

Yes Claire - Email Michael about those too. GS will love those reviews - I can't wait! Will start the thread early next week (unless someone else would like to and I'll add to it) - Hopefully everyone will add to it with their concert memories
Funkadelic - Yes, I really dig Jamie Lidell, so meeting him and talking with him was great. I'll see him again in November - I have a serious concert addiction

Saw him last night for the third time.
He leaves the USA after the next 2 dates.
What a great performer!

I am so happy everyone is diggin' Jamie. I have loved his music for 2 years now.
My only thing is that you should know what you hear on record isn't always what you get at the concert. Jamie has an electronica and production background, so many times he decides to beatbox, loop and create beats on stage live with his equipment.
However, this tour is supposed to be with a full band, so you might get all live music from the show.
Jamie is a little wacky on stage, but delivers an excellent show. Have a great time and I'll await your reviews. I'll see him in June! _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

i saw him at Glastonbury when he was promoting 'multiply' and your right deesh, he goes off on a tangent - which is cool
definately not the sound you would expect when you look at him - great motown sound though.
Sandra - your spot on with the stand out tracks - couldn't agree more
i recorded a blog on UK tv the other night so i will see if i can find it and upload. _________________
