Cool topic, It's a pleasure to read your stories.
Mine is Bergamini. The suffix "ini" is very common in this region of italy and as far as I know my family tree has always lived here. The meaning thanks to the local idiom (everybody knows it but only old people still use it for talk) is something related to work, means cattle breeder. Funny isn't it? _________________ I once had a 10 years of Travelling Without Moving celebrations banner here... |

Estrada is a little way between the nature, not a road, not a way, just a little cool passage... _________________

SHANNAN - It originates from the Dumfries and Galloway region of Scotland, hence it is spelt the Scottish way and not the Irish way (Shannon). People always mistake the spelling!

BEAUTIFUL place! I love Galloway! All of Scotland is great, actually. Most beautiful country in the world. Just a shame it's full of suicidal alcoholics

Same as me...my last name is also a name and my name can also be last name... so people often mix my name and surname..
Anyway...my last name is Ranko...and we are quite unique...i mean there are only few people who has same last name as me...and they are all my relatives...that's because in the past someone made a mistake in writing...our "true" last name is ANKO and someone put R in front and now we are RANKO... and i have no idea what does my last name mean!!! |

Although, I visited the area many years ago, I've never actually lived in Scotland...I was born and raised in the very same village I live in now, in the very south of England. No sign of suicidal alcoholics here!

my lastname is Batista
I don't exactly know where it is from, but many people in Central/South America have this lastname.
It means "the person who baptizes". Actually, it's the same lastname that Juan Bautista (the guy who baptized Jesus Christ) xD
and my names are Cathaysa Iana
Cathaysa is the name of a princess in the canarian mithology (Canary Islands, Spain)
Iana is an Irish (Gaelic) name and I have no idea of what it means, lol.
Anyway, my friends call me Thay and I invented that name as far as I know, lol _________________
