*Fight AIDS - need your help*
Hello lovely people - Claudia, Chena, Myasia (from the JPP forum) and I are going to be participating in the 2006 AIDS walk here in Philadelphia, PA USA. Plus, our family and friends. As you know, AIDS means the world to me, and has been my fight for 14 years. I need your help, please see below and if there are any questions about my validity, the program or anything, reach out to me. There is a paypal link at www.myspace.com/coveryourlover. I thank you in advance. Thanks also to Inaki and Jeroen for their help and of course the girls and their families for doing this with me.

Cover Your Lover and Jamiroquai Fans Unite to Fight AIDS

Philadelphia, PA/September 8, 2006 – AIDS is not over. On October 15, 2006, the 19th annual AIDS Walk in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA) will take place to raise funds for those affected and infected by HIV/AIDS. This year, Cover Your Lover(1) combines forces with fans of the British band Jamiroquai(2) to help in this fight by walking on the ActionAIDS(3) team.

ActionAIDS is the largest and oldest AIDS service organization in the Philadelphia area. It provides an abundance of services for those affected and infected by HIV/AIDS ranging from housing assistance to job placement, drug rehabilitation and reaching out into the community with educational presentations. This year, ActionAIDS suffered a huge loss in government funding, which trickled down to affect these services.

Each individual who donates over $35 USD (27 EUR, 19 GBP) has the option of receiving a 10-track CD(4) with mixed Jamiroquai songs (live, covers), as well as a Cover Your Lover packet full with condoms and HIV/AIDS information. You will be contacted if you meet the requirements of the CD. You can also opt not to receive it. If you can’t donate to that level, then anything will truly help. More information on walk here:
http://www.aidswalkphilly.org/AIDSWalkPhilly.aspx

Donations can be accepted through regular postal mail, directly giving it to a walker, or submitting it online. For mail address or online instructions, please contact us at coveryourlover@msn.com. For USA citizens, the donation is tax deductible. Donations will be received until October 13, 2006. Details also available at www.myspace.com/coveryourlover.

Thank you in advance for your support in fighting this global epidemic.

(1) Launched October 2003, Cover Your Lover (CYL) was founded as a tool to connect the hip-hop and AIDS community. CYL moonlights at adult hip-hop spots around the city, distributing over 1,000 condoms and leaflets containing information and education about preventing the spread of AIDS, and the importance of testing. Since its conception, CYL has now expanded to include all musical genres in its mission. CYL has been featured in local and national newspapers, television stations, and numerous websites. CYL has spoken to numerous high school students emphasizing the significance of knowledge of sexual health, safer sex, and more importantly, abstinence and self respect. www.coveryourlover.info

(2) Funky fresh British band Jamiroquai hit the acid jazz scene in 1993 with their socially conscious debut, “Emergency on Planet Earth”. Six albums, multiple singles and countless awards later, Jamiroquai has become an international representation of what happens when you fuse funk, jazz, pop, rock and soul. Their upcoming album, High Times: Singles 1992 – 2006 is set to be released in November 2006, and highlight their humble and crazed beginnings to their constant growth and experimentation. www.funkin.com

(3) ActionAIDS is the oldest and largest service AIDS organization in Philadelphia. Founded by a group of volunteers many moons ago, ActionAIDS has a mission to be sure no one faces AIDS alone, no matter the ethnicity, race, or economic status. Providing multiple services and support to those affected and infected by AIDS, ActionAIDS has gained a respectable reputation in the community for putting its clients first. www.actionaids.org

(4) CD Tracklisting is as follows: Condom Comment Introduction by Jay in NYC 2005, Too Young To Die (live), Revolution 1993 (live), Our Time Is Coming, Shoot the Moon, Who the Funk Do You Think You are, Sunny, Slipin n Slidin, Life Goes On, Do That Dance

PS. I know these are songs that you all have and have traded, downloaded, etc...but it's for the cause, and I wanted to think of something to help spread the word of Jamiroquai and AIDS. I made sure they are songs that aren't available to buy, so not to create any unnecessary drama.

Thanks, Deesh

Anna - Thank you very much for the kind words. I am not good at fundraising really - It's very challenging. I'm better with just straight activism! Thanks again for the support Smile

Claire - Got It and Thank you so much. It means a lot to me, and I appreciate it very much. You should have mail shortly. Much love.

You know I'll be walking with you in spirit Ms Dyer and I'm behind you 110% on this one.

You know you're my inspiration, you don't just talk about something and give it the large one, you actually do something about your beliefs and your passions.

I'll do everything I can to help Smile.

I'm up to $275.00 bucks, of which $35.00 came from the Jamily...

Any amount is appreciated. CD's will be out Friday to those that qualified so far.

Thanks so much everyone for all you are doing to help spread the word.

Keep the money coming!
