Prince's "Musicology"!!!!
Hello, :bm_b:
Well, looks like 2004 will be the "Year of Prince"! Just off the heels of being inducted into the class of 2004 for the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame (Inductee page: http://www.rockhall.com/hof/inductee.asp?id=2179 ), he has released today a brand new album titled "Musicology"! The album is amazing and is perfect to present Prince's music to the new generation! The album covers almost all genres of music, but it is a Prince album, with that R&B swagger that you can only expect on a Prince album. My fav songs on the album are "A Million Days" & "Illusion, Coma, Pimp & Circumstance". If your looking for some music to tide you over till the next Jamiroquai album, pick up Prince's new album, you won't be disappointed ! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

Prince deserves every accolade he gets, and I'm really glad he got into the Hall of Fame. I'm just a teenager, but I know that artists as influential and genre-bending as him deserve proper respect. I'll have to look for that album, and hopefully, it won't be his last album like he says it is. Ditto for Jay-Z and The Black Album. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. I'm sorry to say, that I've never been a fan of Prince...never liked the music and his attitude.
But I have to say, that when I was watching MTV lately, and saw the new video "Musicology" I wanted to dance emidiately (while it was 8 in the morning!!!!).
The record is great and I'm willing to listen to rest of the album. So PRINCE, you surprised me! But keep up the good work! _________________

You're right Jamirofan
This is the year of Prince. He's got the new Album. I'm from Minneapolis, Minnesota U.S.A. the home of Prince. On his tour he's got 3 upcoming sold-out shows coming up. He was in the funny Dave Chappelle's show skit with Charlie Murphy (By the way in an interview on BET with Prince he said that the story was true... at least the part about schoolin Charlie Murphy in ball). But also I went to Vegas on spring break this past March. At the Boardwalk hotel casion/hotel on the Strip, they have a Prince impersonator that does a show there every night.
The dude has the act down to a science, AND HE LOOKS JUST LIKE PRINCE! It's a spitting image I swear. Me and my friend got a pic taken with the guy, and we've been playin a joke on each new person that see's the pic that we got to chill with Prince in Vegas lol!
Anyway the new album is allright. He's pretty hit or miss with me, unlike Jamiroquai where almost every song rules. Just thought I'd share that with y'all. Peace out,
Pete |

Well... I have never been a fan of Prince, I must say. But I got Musicology and I liked it. A lot actually. So I think I am going to review the old catalogue of Prince.
Thanks for the review JamiroFan. |

Yeah, same here. While I'm partly digging the new cd, I still prefer the old faves like Little Red Corvette, Let's Go Crazy, Darlin Niki Etc.
What is encouraging about this album is it is a real throwback to 70's funk and soul. Which is something a lot of Jam fans are into (myself included). Maybe with the release of this new Cd from Prince, the US will be better prepared to hear Jamiroquai again. |
