It's nothing special, track is simply average :/

Ofcourse Runaway is better than black devil car, electric mistress etc but it don't present full Jamiroquai's energy, skills and style...
Sample of remix was better, mostly stronger! Even though we never heard full version of Grant Nelson mix, I think that was a very promising thing! I thought that JMQ oldschool style will finally comeback to us! But today I expired that he don't returned.
When I was listening to Runaway somewhere in a middle (after 2nd stanza) I thought that radiostation put some jingle on a track...but it was a 'transition' -just like, boys from Sony were impressed for latest Madonna's tracks
That was terrible, it dont match with whole tune and spoiled it :/ I'm fan of JMQ since 1999 and i'm really disappointed!
p.s. sorry 4 my english |
This so sadly, but i totaly agree with u////that's the fact///it's not originally Jamiroquai awesome track,it's very ordinary,good...but not jami vibe...
Remix was much better....
Ok////Waiting for ///rocky track ....Radio))))(i hope it's not Black Devil car////.... _________________

define classic... |
what??
Space cowboy is a classic! Travelling without moving is a classic! Love foolosophy is a classic! But NOT THIS! |
It cannot become a classic, no album to spread its (hopefully) success but I like it, i saw a lot of unreleased tracks made just for a greatest hits and they don't sound like this one. Don't runaway guys, get that new track as it is! _________________ I once had a 10 years of Travelling Without Moving celebrations banner here... |

oh, calm down brent. all i did was ask a question - not attacking, disagreeing or agreeing. just curious as to your definition of a classic, especially how it relates to this song.
i was going to start a post awhile ago about that word 'classic'..but i think i'm the only one interested in the overuse of that word in music (not saying you, just in general from all that i read and write that is music related. classic used to actually have a deeper and reserved meaning, but now it's just used too much). see, that sounds boring, so that is why i didn't make that post.
and maybe you have to explain yourself, because someone is actually interested in what you actually think - which isn't a bad thing dear
thanks for the explanation though, it's all good _________________ www.dee34.wordpress.com |

thank you dearest Brent!!! you're magic! Did you do this today???????
You think this song is a dig at Sony?
"Can you see I'm going insane
I wanna be a free man
But I'm spinning on this crazy wheel"
"lumber around" is a bit of a weird line! You think that's right???????!
Hmmm....Soul Education mentions "rainbows" and "cut me loose" - the same meaning as "turn me loose". hmmmmm......
Runaway's not a song that's makes me go "wow, this is the best ever Jamiroquai track" - buuuuutttt.....well I like it. )
thanks Brent, you're a star x _________________ All Hail the King |

Grant Nelson that made Runaway remix had more 'jamiroquai soul' than Jamiroquai _________________

Okay i want to be really prefound here with my opinion but i cant
My initial thoughts were (and still are) that the remix was better. But i dont know, not yet. I really liked the remix but this mmmm not sure yet.
I agree that the track sounds ultra 'polished' more so than some of the Dynamite tracks.
**thinks to himself......am i just talking myself into liking it??**

wowwwwww just listen to the little clip again and again...
and i just doooooo like it!!!
it is little "over-polished"... but after i saw how Matt "makes music"... no surprise to me...
but it has got some really gggoooddd vibes... which i like very much !!!!!
a wonderful song to dance to
absolutly new kind of song...
after listning to the remix..i thought that there has been some similarities with "canned heat"... but the original song hasn´t got that !!!
just my opinion!!!
I LOVE IT _________________

yes, I agree, thats interesting why?
why we're able to tell apart what is greatest and what is worst
why we noticed all differents between real classic Jamiroquai (like If I Like I Do It, Mr Moon, Cosmic Girl, Love Fool) and some new Jamiroquai (like Starchild, Black Devil Car & Runaway )
and I think nobody from us would tell that this Runaway is
but seriously I must say that Runaway is
