a Greatest Hits after Syncronized?.. Shocked

Yes, because of the low sales. That's basically the excuse of the labels to put out greatest hits or best of's, see that most of the greatest hits of artists come right after a not-so-good-or-not-best-selling-album.

D! (dyego)

fucking labels¡¡¡¡¡¡ Mad Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil
the sells are not the important thing, the important is the quality of the band and the music they does
for that reason i buy albums of another band who doenst sells alot too, because that shit i dont care
mainstream my ass Twisted Evil

dyego - sometimes it's low sales, but most of the time it's not -

*many labels put out best of and greatests hits because the songs in the catalog that they (labels) own are still profitable so whether the artist is at a high or a low --- they are going to push for a greatest hits, especially if the artist is at the end of their contract.

*many times a greatest hits is included in the contract (labels can't be totally to blame for artist being too quick to sign without reading the contract or consulting a lawyer).

*many times an artist/band puts out a greatest hits to get out of their contract..kind of like not giving the record label anymore new songs, just re-issuing the ones already out to count as the final release or something.

exactly! but it's WE who think in that way, NOT THE LABELS.. if not, artists such as britney spears (sorry in advance if someone here likes her Confused ) wouldnt be so famous!

I'll be buying it, but only because CDs are so (relatively) cheap here that it's almost worth it. I might not get it right away, it'll depend on the retail price when it's first released, but I'll pick it up eventually.

buffaloman_R Hello, buffaloman_R

Very Happy Mega dittos to all of your point of views on this topic Very Happy. I, of course, will purchase this release ( Rolling Eyes Just as long as it doesn't have a frayed and delayed release date like they did with Dynamite's past US release Rolling Eyes ). I mean, we, much like the band, have changed and adapted with the times over the last 15 years very well, depended on the circumstances of course. And Jamiroquai's Music, as unexpectingly compacted that it will be in this compilation, is worth the price, however inflated or deflated the price is. Yeah, Sony expects a big profit winfall from this release, but at least JK will have one less constable to come and report too inbetween album releases. But there is a interesting arguement that could arise here:

JK has said in the past that he owes more to Sony and he makes with them through Jamiroquai's releases, do you think Sony wil maintain all profits from this GH compilation in the name of JK's debt to them OR split it 50/50 and call JK's debt even?

I know that arguement does fringe on the question of who maintains future copyright royalities on Jamiroquai's 6 album catalogue, but I tried to make this a separate thought. But anyway, without the new material in consideration, this will be a good compilation, however they end up stacking these songs (Singles) in a messy pile. Freedom, gentlemen and ladies, is just what JK and the band....Goodbye Sony/BMG...hello independant JK Music Label? EMI/Parlophone for a new record deal?!?

Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

Of course I'll buy it. For 3 reasons.
1. My collection.
2. (Runaway)/Radio/Bonus unreleased song
3. To support the band I guess (still hoping they will do better after the Sony deal)

I typed Runaway inside brackets because I'm also getting the official Maxi CD release for my collection. So it's not that important for my decision to buy the GH.

I already have the Runaway Remixes promo CD (in the mail). And I'll try to find the promo for the actual single too... if the price is right that is.

I'll also buy the DVD of course!!!

However... I won't buy the regular CD single release for Runaway. I won't buy the GH with bonus remixes CD. Never!

It's possible that I buy the Japanese GH release depending on the cover and the DVD bundled with it.

I'll buy it just for my collection. I'll also buy the DVD and the Runaway single and maxi-single. I don't think just the track "radio" will worth buying the GH CD but I have no choice...

If it's "rock" it probably isn't. But like you said, we have no choice. I'm really curious about that unreleased bonus track though.

Whoa, there's an unreleased bonus track as well?!? Never heard about that until now. Surprised

Yeah,I will most likely end up buying it. I am admittedly a "download music off the internet" guy (SHAMEFUL,I know Sad ),and as such, this will be my FIRST CD purchase EVER. Don't hurt me. Sad

It'll be worth it,though. Very Happy

GH
Sony know full well fans will buy this album and it will create more fans who in turn will buy the albums that created this one!
Also sticking two extra tracks on or previously un- released ones is an old marketing trick which makes the album look worth buying to the fans.
We know there game but we will still buy the different versions to support the band Rolling Eyes
