Still suggests Jay's stuck to the same basic hat design yet again, which isn't very imaginative...
So many attempts at a deep and meaningful explanation... come on people, it's obvious, isn't it? Jay asked the boys to bury him in the sand and they got a little carried away.
Personally I think the same photo, minus the hat, but plus a small buffalo-man shaped cloud in the sky would have worked just as well, and probably pleased more people (because the buffalo man IS a cooler logo, and most fans identify with it more)... but all the same, it's an absolutely beautiful cover. No complaints at all.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the cover was 'washed up'.
Because the hat's all dirty, I thought 'well, it hasn't been placed there, it's either been accidentally lost or deliberately discarded...'
This could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how you look at it metaphorically... ie. Does the hat represent Jamiroquai as a whole, or just the post-AFO sound?
If it was the Buffalo Man looking like it'd been thrown away, then I'd be a little worried, but I think this says 'new beginning' to me.
Cool photo anyway _________________

I discovered why this cover touched me deep inside. Here the summer is over, i'm sad because i see in front of mylife a hard year to reach the next holidays so nothing can express my feelings better than a beach in autumn, grey sky above and abandoned items on it.
Jay...You lost your hat! I lost my happiness.
...and Sony...you forgot the past put a buffaloman at least on the discs. _________________ I once had a 10 years of Travelling Without Moving celebrations banner here... |

I don't like it!!! This doesn't represent Jamiroquai but only AFO and Dynamite, a buffaloman would be more appropriated!!!
The picture is good beautiful but not for the greatest hits..... |

How about a "hats off - Jamiroquai delivers their best music tunes"?
I like your reading about the photo Andrew!

i like the picture a lot, but do think what does it mean. will jamiroquai slowly be covered by sand afterwards until they are gone and forgotten? |
Well I like it a lot too, it's simple and sober at the same time. It's not an over-produced artwork . I don't think we have to take the image literally or in a pessimistic way. In my opinion the picture wants to conjure up 13 years using the sand and the composure to remember, to compile..as a metaphorial vision. And I think it looks very very well. |

Well, I have a bit of a liking to the cover. Even though a rock-shaped buffalo man would be tight, this has the classy Jay fashion+the earthy vibe that Jay (used?) is an advicate for. Either way, just like Runaway, its the new face of Jami, so we might just get used to it or continue burning down the old vinyls. 'Sides, once Sony is out of the picture we'll see what this group is really all about. |

I like it. Is very different of the rest of their album covers.
And it could mean a lot of things! That's what I like about art (in this case, an album cover), and I see it more as the end of an era. Which isn't always bad. I'm sure the buffalo man will be on the back, aswell on the inside, I don't complain about it. This is a fine and creative cover artwork, which makes a big difference with the rest of the albums.

I like it!!!, and i agree with you i think that it represents a new begging, wich is more than the end of an era......a evolution of buffaloman, with different hats.... could be interesting too....maybe the DVD cover come with a different cover _________________ Jamiro - ROCKS!! - |

Eh? No, AFO was the first album with the spiky hat on it... Jay jumping up in front of the strobe lighting, remember?
You might be thinking of the Little L single cover, basically the same but with a buffalo man instead of Jay...
