In order to promote the single "Runaway"....
| funkin.com wrote: |

I think that's a good reason. And as Rob said, they couldn't choose if they'd play it live or not. There will be plenty of chances to perform it live, you will see!

Agreed.
It's not a big deal not performing live... Firstly It depends on the show, Some have live performance and others use the playback. Jamiroquai has done this a lot in the past, It's the best way for listeners to identify the track that's being played on the radio. That's promotion...
Chances to see them live there'll be plenty of |

On the media.guardian.co.uk website today....
| Guardian Newspaper (UK) wrote: |
| Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway was watched by an average of 7 million viewers - more than a million behind Robin Hood. The show maintained the same share of audience as The X Factor, at 31.1%. |
7 million is not bad promotion in my eyes.
I'm not sure if you need to register on the site to view the full viewing figures report : http://media.guardian.co.uk/overnights/story/0,,1891170,00.html |

Totally agree. I don't think we have to take it dramatically. |

rob harris put a comment on funkin.com
"just to set the record straight.Jay was singing live on the show.He wasn't miming at all. There were of course some of Jays backing vocal parts left on tape as we felt they would have been missed had they not been there. With regards to us doing a playback, these shows run live to broadcast. Its a case of you either do playback or you don't appear at all. It's not our choice. On a show like this there is just not enought time to set up evrything as all of the equipment is placed on stage during the advert comercial breaks."

Not to say anyone is a liar, but if Jay is singing live he's hands down one of the best vocalists ever. I have a really really hard time believing he did it live. He sings it exactly the same as on the studio version with no difference whatsoever. I trust Rob on his comment, its still just hard to believe.
It does suck that they do it to a track, but if it were me I'd play to a tape to reach 5+ million viewers. Try and so no to that. |

No, no, no. Some of you guys want Jamiroquai to have commercial success. This is never a guarantee for good music. Of course I want them to make a living with what they do, but that's all.
I am against playback in any form, hey they're musicians, so they have to do their job honestly and just perform in shows where they're allowed to play live. _________________
