Make your 6th album predictions!!
Hello, :bm_r:
I thought I would look into my Buffaloman shaped magic globe and make some of my own predictions on what the 6th Jamiroquai album will be like. Here's some of my predictions:
*JAMIROFAN'S 6TH JAMIROQUAI ALBUM PREDICTIONS*
1. Chief producing credits for the 6th album will go to JK, Al Stone, and The Pope.
2. The cover art for the album will feature the whole band, a first for any Jamiroquai album cover, in a earthly background and JK sporting a new hat that is a cross between the fake animal fur hat of the EOPE era and the blade Shogun hat of the AFO era. The title of the album will be "Midnight Sun", named after the last tour of Europe.
3. Primary writing credits will go to JK, Alex, Derrick, Rob & Sola.
4. The album will be released to special editions, a normal CD release and a special Digi-pack edition with a art booklet and maybe a bonus CD-ROM or DVD with special videos and music.
5. The sound of the 6th album will revolve the great horns of past Jamiroquai album headed by Martin Shore & the new beatnick bass player Alex Meadows. It will a be more "old sound", with a little ping of "new sound" thrown in.
6. When the album is released in the states, THERE WILL BE NO TERRORIST ATTACK to deter attention from it.
7. The linear notes of the 6th album booklet will feature lyrics, pictures and a much needed bigger "Thank you" to all the Online Jamiroquai fans who have followed Jamiroquai for 12 years.
8. And finally, the album itself will be at least 11-12 songs long, more than average expected 45 minutes of music per Jamiroquai album, and will be enhanced with videos or something of that variety.
9. The 1st single of the 6th album, expecting a early to late July or August release in the UK, Asia, and U.S. (Hopefully!!!), will be released in two parts, with 1-3 new B-sides OR remixes/mixes of the song per CD1 & CD2.
10. Will end up being the "best selling Jamiroquai album of all time", with expected first week sales of 500,000 to 1 million.
There you go, hope some my predictions will come true, please leave yours, maybe some of yours will come true too ! Thanks for listening and Peace!!!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000 _________________

ooh, this is fun!
1. special American guest artist(s), perhaps west coast horn players like Karl Denson (played with Lenny Kravitz)
2. continued influence of Latin music
3. a longer playing disc, with 10 songs and a bonus track (Hollywood swingin'?)
p.s. I really hope Al Stone gets a hand on this record, but wouldn't be surprised if someone over here in the states does as well since some recording is going on in LA. _________________ i left my funk in san francisco

My predictions:
1 - At least one track with something interstellar in it. (I think I can see a pattern here.. )
2 - At least one track with something pro-Earth (can't be bad)
3 - At least one track with cars in it (what amazing powers I have)
4 - At least one track based entirely on dancing (i.e. not too deep lyrics)
5 - At least one track with the modern, updated sound (oh, those computers.. )
6 - Some variation. I think with all the influences they've gathered over the years, they're full of musical knowledge. Hopefully something latin, some jazz, funk, soul, rock... but please, digital sounds is virtual insanity. (no, not the song) I hope they use proper instruments and as much live playing as possible. _________________ Supergroovalisticprosifunkstication! |

Hello Jamirotalkers,
Following Jamirofan’s post, and like he said, I made my prediction for the new Jamiroquai album we are all waiting for three years ago:
-The cover: will feature the band and the buffalo man MUST be somewhere.
-The tracks: 13 tracks and a bonus track at the end (I can already see Jamirofan posting the lyrics to this last one cause the lyrics won’t be in the inside book).
-Songwriting: JK & Matt (I love this man melodies) are the ones fully involved.
-The longest track: I guess at least one track will reach 8 minutes long, just like in the first albums (can you believe in the lasts albums we almost couldn’t hear a song for more than 6 minutes?).
-The shortest track: I can imagine an interlude of 2 minutes with mostly drums and percussion rhtythm.
-Produced: by JK and The Pope.
-Programmed: by Al Stone.
-In the thankyous: I bet he will thank Adidas and some guy (like for example Gary Apsden) and the Ferrari team!
-Catalogue Number: 2-524871
-Album name: mmmmm.......could be Midnight Sun
-Tracklisting:
1.Nightlife
2.Inside Your Heart
3.Midnight Sun
4.Didjital Journey (featuring Wallis Buchanan!!!!)
5.Shoot The Moon
6.Ride Into The Sky (aka Funk Odyssey)
7.Hypnotic
8.Cannabliss
9.Mind Games
10.Black Devil Car
11.Space & Time (instrumental)
12.Fantastic
13.Believe In Me
-Album orientation: back to the old funky sound (like we all want to), but I prefer mixed with jazzy melodies instead of the rocky sound (although we know that Black Devil Car and Cannabliss are following that path).
-Doubts: I can’t imagine Kay singing with Renèe Zellwegger but I do imagine an important duet in one of the songs (who would that be?).
-Videos: I definetely want a special effects video just like Supersonic and Virtual Insanity. I am not saying LL, LF or YGMS were bad but too commercial for me.
Well, this is my prediction for the 6th album. I also want 2004 and 2005 to be the best moment of the band’s career to date. And the best selling album of all too.
Now yes, the count begins now......... let the funk odyssey begin once again...

I like Diego's post, particularly the tracklisting... very clever.
I can't imagine the new album being named Midnight Sun... since the Midnight Sun tour came a year and a half before the release of the album. But, I tend to be wrong...
I'd like to see 13 tracks, and I would LOVE to hear a completed version of FEELS SO GOOD TO BE REAL, honestly... that song needs to be finished.
Who says Jay has to be outrageous with his hats? I like some of his more normal looks, too... particularly the hat he wore at ROCK AM RING... pretty sweet. And the special effects video, that's a great idea too. That sold a lot of people to Jamiroquai here in the States more than the music did lol.
We'll just have to wait and see! |

Here's mine:
JK, Matt, and Rob will have the lion's share of the writing credits.
Twelve tracks with a bonus cut, either a remix or a U.K. B-side.
Entire band on the cover/massive buffalo man on the back.
Longest track: Seven minutes. Shortest Track: Three minutes, ten secs.
The Pope and Al Stone will share producer/programmer credits with JK.
Half the songs will incorporate elements of the 'old sound'-horns, fatter keys, jazzier tunes; the other half will explore the more "mainstream" take-violins, breakbeats, and synths.
There will be three songs with no live drums and/or keyboard bass.
Latin music will have a more sizable effect on this album.
First week sales of at least 300,000 in UK/Europe; first week in U.S. and Canada about 50,000.
There will be one video with tricked-out special effects to bait American audiences.
Let the countdown begin... _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does. Otherwise, I have to be honest, I can see a situation where...there is a possibility that you become lost in the annals of acid jazz history." -- Jason Kay |

I think Chris is right about the U.S./Canada album sales, and I think Diego is right about the Buffalo Man being on the cover. But everything else sounds about right for what Jamirofan said.
I totally agree with Freddie about Feels So Good to Be Real song. That's the hidden lil diddy at the end of AFO right? I love that song.
The only thing I'll add to the table is I think this album will be the 2nd in a row in which Jay will have vocals on every song. There will be no instrumental only songs. I was never a big fan of those.
Peace out y'all. _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |
