Sam's new weekly column on Argentine football (in English)
I mentioned this in the Canned Heat topic last week, but since there may be some people who don't pay attention to that topic, but might be interested in this, thought I'd put it in a new topic...
Basically I've been given a weekly column writing about the Argentine league for the wonderful www.voiceoffootball.com. It's a huge opportunity for me, first of all because it gets my name out there and gives me the chance to get noticed, secondly because it means I'll have even more of a focus to keep reading stuff in Spanish from now on, but mostly, of course - and this is the most important bit - because it's fun.
If you want to read it because you're into football, or just because you like me and want to give my article lots of hits so the editors will like me more, the first article available here:
http://www.voiceoffootball.com/columnists/sk/2006/1106/081106pdahooligans.htm
It's already out of date because whilst it went online yesterday, my copy deadline for it was Wednesday morning - so to all the Argies who know what's happened since, don't worry, so do I, and it'll be mentioned next week!

Really nice Sam. Although I'm not well informed about Argie football (I just know some club names and that Boca Juniors fired my team in the Toyota cup final in 2003 ) the column is great, a very enjoyable reading!
I was trying to find the signature....here it is:

Muchas felicidades Sam!
Great you talk about Argentinian football league. I'm like Rinaldo, I know some clubs but not very much.
All I just know is : Viva Boca Juniors, and I want to go the Bombonera! |

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH don't say that to me. Boca are evil. Cool kit but what a horrible club (I'm off to prepare for the backlash now, because all the Argies on here apart from Noe seem to be Boca fans)...
¡AGUANTE RIVER!

I support "Indepentiende", but I'm from La Plata, and "Estudiantes" has made a good season and deserves this one
