LAUNCHED: Gilles Peterson official site
This man has opened up my eyes to so much..and I know a few of you dig him. His Brazilian podcast is phenomenal if you haven't heard it. Anyway, Gilles already has his weekly show on BBC, and you can hear it re-broadcasted weekly on the Giant Step jukebox (http://www.giantstep.net/artists/710/)
Gilles has got sensual ear candy for days...lovin' it!
Now, he has an official website...Check it out:

Our favorite DJ, BBC Radio 1 presenter Gilles Peterson finally launched a proper official website last week. It includes all of the essentials you might expect: gig dates, radio shows, blog, podcast, biography, discography, links to the Brownswood messageboard and label, and contact. The site features a few special nuggets, too. The blog, titled Moblog is actually a mobile phone photo web-journal that will have jottings by “Charlie Dark, Dayo the don, Karl Injex, Karen P and Rainer Truby." The podcast section already has the Brahma Gilles Peterson In Brasil documentary up but will be updated with label profiles from the likes of Stones Throw, Jazzy Sport, and BBE records. Rumor has it that a smattering of his old radio shows from Jazz FM and BBC Radio London will be available – material dating back to 1988! And of course his official compilation discography needs to be mentioned. From the Worldwide CDs to the classic Jazz Juice series to the obscure Impressed comps, he’s done over 50 in his career. Check-check and keep checking back with his winning site.

Ah, Mr Peterson, the man with the almost impeccable taste in music.
He used to make every Monday night I spent in London a fabulous evening when he was a resident at Bar Rumba. He played wicked stuff and I discovered a lot of great music thanks to him. Azymuth for example.
Bookmarked! Thanks Deesh. _________________ Old school forever! |
