Don't get me wrong, I love all of the actors who have played Bond, especially Connery (as he's a fellow Scot), but the closest to the novels was Dalton. His performance in Licence To Kill is brilliant without the comedic "I think he got the point..." type of remarks.(trivia: The guy who plays the villain in Licence To Kill is the same guy who plays Jack Wade in Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies..Bonds C.I.A contact...his name is Joe Don Baker) Tim's portrayal is definately much darker than any of the others. I suppose it depends what kind of mood you are in. I've seen them all so many times and some of them are really good just to chill out and watch, especially Diamonds Are Forever or Live And Let Die and who can forget Roger Moore Ski-ing off the cliff at the start of The Spy Who Loved Me then pulling open his Union Jack parachute...................brilliant stuff. Goldeneye was amazing and Sean Bean was particularly good as the bad guy. Strangely enough, the producers wanted Brosnan before Dalton but he was tied up in the American T.V show he was working on, Brosnan could have done Daltons movies and vice-versa. Not only that but they wanted Dalton earlier than they got him, but he was considered to be too young to be a Naval Commander so Dalton could have done the last couple of Moore movies. I've also found that with a lot of people it depends on their age. Everyone tends to love the Bond they grew up with. Here's an idea, instead of saying which Bond is your favourite, who are your favourite villains???
Mine have to be: (in no particular order)
1) Max Zorin (A View To A Kill)
2) Sean Bean (Goldeneye, cos he's a "00" as well and equal to Bond)
3) Francisco Scaramanga (The Man With The Golden Gun)
and
4) Auric Goldfinger (also the source of the best Bond line ever!!)
Bond "Do you expect me to talk Goldfinger?"
Goldfinger "No Mr Bond, I expect you to die"
I know I've not mentioned Blofeld but I'm going to stop now because I could go on forever and i've not even started on Bond girls or recurring characters..............
p.s top marks to anyone who can tell me (without looking it up) what Q's name was.......
I'm off to watch Jamiroquai on Children In Need.

Hmm
I dont like that this new bond does a lot stand up comedy!
(leave that to Q(Spoiler: Wich is not in the film!))
Jk said that he could have done a better soundtrack, i say he could have done a better James Bond

i just want to know how good he is and if he is good ill buy the dvd when it is released

I´m a huge Pierceasabondfan!! but...I have to say..this movie is...different..you can´t compare them...Craigs Bond is much..."harder"...
the story wasn´t thaaat surprising to me...  ..
but I have to say Daniel is fantastic...I am really looking forward to the next part!!!
contents spoiler  ...but I missed the "bond theme" during the movie...at the end.. I knew why.....
