My own analysis on the Jamiroquai video chronology
I was watching the DVD and I came up with different 'eras' between the videos. Let's see:
1st era: The early videos. The 'home-made' look of them. First 4 videos.
2nd era: 1 good commercial lead video (Space cowboy), and random style of the next ones (Half The Man, himself; Stillness In Time and Light Years, with the band).
3rd era: All commercial videos that are truly Jamiroquai. From Virtual to perhaps High Times. Good look of them, the entire band in all the videos.
4th era: The Special Effects video era. This includes from Deeper Underground, Canned Heat, and Supersonic.
5th era: The fashion/good looking glamorous style of Jay Kay with shirts with stripes, expensive clothes and specially, beautiful ladies everywhere. This includes Little L, You Give Me Something and Love Foolosophy. Perhaps trying to get away from the bottom of the 'Synkronized' last vids.
6th era: Very important one that only includes 'Corner Of The Earth'. For me, is like trying to come back to the origin of 'Jamiroquai' and the early videos. Indian suit, animals, Earth, nature, etc etc.
7th era: The search of something new and innovative. This would include 'Feels Just Like It Should' and '(Don't) Give Hate A Chance', specially.
8th era: The 'Let's-go-with-something-safe-not-too-risky' era. Including 'Seven Days In Sunny June' and 'Runaway'.
Hope you liked my little analisis

I (almost) totally agree.
The only thing I desagree is the 6th era. It's a detail. I think that COTH is not a real period. It's something different from 5th era, true, but High Times video is quite different from 3rd era as well and it's included there. I'd say is it's anecdotal, but not a different era.
Anyway. It's a very good analysis.

Yes, perhaps you're right. I just see that High Times, still being different from the other 3 videos, has all the band on it too, like the rest of that era. That's why I feel they are somehow related.
And COTE... it was hard I didn't know if included in that era or not, but I realized it was SO different from the others. Cheesy commercial stuff and then BANG! That's what I thought to create a new era... Maybe the name is not era, but a different step in that same time-line.

Yes, agree. I think we have the same opinion and it's all about a detail or an idiomatic difference.
The thing is that High Times, despite of the fact that has all the band, it's a bit different (in a visual sense) than 3d era. And the same thing happens with COTH and 5th era. So, as you said, maybe the name is not an era, but they're a different step between 2 eras with a manifest differentiation. |

Im the main points I agree with your list Dyego Impressive thoughts about the different meanings of the videos
I am very curious about the future....what kind of videos will we see? May be more low budget videos, but that must not be bad Hopefully we might see the band again more in the videos _________________

Yes, but you see, the list is in (trying to put them) chronological order, I can't go back to the 5th era. It would make a trouble in the space/time capable to consume us all (back to the future anyone? )

great analysis Dyego....I agree with it too.
I'd have to say the same about Seven Days Video....it's almost just Jay and not the band in it, I really don't like the video at all. It dosen't do justice to what the lyrics say in the song....
So I don't know really where to put it but I would say it leans more twoards the "fashion" era...
