Have you ever thought why...
... there is no Buffalo Man on the front covers of AFO, Dyna, and HTTS2-6? I myself don't know why... Sure, there's a BM on the CD or in the booklet, or on the spine of the casing, but none on the front cover. I doubt Sony wouldn't put the BM on the cover, since albums that bear it on their front cover nearly promote themselves, so I think it's Jay who doesn't want the BM on the cover, as if he's trying to tell us: "This is not my music. It's not made by me, and I myself hate it, and am against it" -- but this is just my interpretation of the lack of the well-known logo on the front covers.

[Sorry, I'd finish this message, but I have to get off the computer this instant]

Mmmm nah I don't think so. If he would think that, there would be no cover at all, only black, or white or whatever. Besides, the second version of Dynamite did have the buffalo on it, many people forget that.

For me the hat has become an alternative logo.

yes i noticed that..
but sorry diego i dont agree with you, because u can make much more creative artworks with just a buffalo man. just look at some of the singles' covers.. they're are amazing!
for example the blow your mind single cover.. or the alright cover.. or the stillness in time! i love that one Very Happy
light years, canned heat, virtual insanity, half the man, space cowboy, cosmic girl, high times, seven days..
all of them are great covers without jay's face/body on them (got nothing against him! LOL)

i think diego is right in the "hat as new logo" part, but i think the main reason is simply because, like it or not, jay's face (and body) sells much more than a buffaloman, and sony knows that promoting jays image will give them more money than any other thing.

i don´t think jay hates all the music he made on the albums where no bm is...
and he has no reason to do it.there are excellent songs on these ones aswell..
agree--it´s all about promotion

Re: Have you ever thought why...
I don't know why, but maybe is as Diego said, it like a new logo, a new way of showing Jamiroquai, just without the buffalo man... I like the GH cover, and I like the AFO one very much. I don't like the Dyanmite cover very much (the B&W one) but the US version of the album has the Bman on its cover and it's not THE cover....

I don't agree here, nobody is putting a gun on his head to produce it, I mean, yes, there's a lot of influence of sony in the last 2 albums + GH, but I don't think he hates it, or is against.

i think is because jay tried to get more noticed, i still beleive that he thinks the band is himself , thats why in the greatest hits the photos inside the booklet are all of him. So he became a star and wanted everybody to know that. Protagonisim and his diva complex are the reasons.

Laughing "Diva complex"... True, true, but on the other hand, Jami is a band with only one constant member, so I don't think it's just his diva complex...

I don't remember when and where, but somebody asked jay once, what was the key of his succes, and he said that he has been always surrounded by great musicians, who are very creative etc etc.
And alomst in every concert he asks for an applause "for his great musicians" so I don't think he thinks Jamiroquai is succesful and famous only because of him...
