The gossip: Toby is coming back? Mm.....
Hello Jamirotalkers,
I just read at the funkin site guestbook that some guy said that he heard a gossip that Toby might come back... mmm... I don't think that is true, but if that happens, that means that the album is going to be re-recorded again (like what happened with Stu on Synkronized, remember?), and that means we have to wait even more for the release!!!!
Mmm. I don't count on that gossip.

Even if Toby is making a comeback, I don't think there will be any re-recording of the album. I think this is not the same case as with Stu. And it is possible that Matt will stay on the band. Oh well, this is just a gossip talk anyway, _________________ kite carrier (geuze)

he left AFTER AFO and would come back BEFORE the next album? that wouldn't make sense, would it? or was he just sick of touring?
as much as i would hope for it, i highly doubt that it will happen (yet)
and let's look at the good sides as well - i am sure with matt they have some great 'replacement' for him! _________________ Dear Auntie Em. Hate you, hate Kansas, took the dog. Dorothy. x |

Mmm... thats a good point Cosmic Bear, what you said about coming back after AFO and then before the new album.
But lets imagine for a second he is coming back and that Matt stays in the band. What about Simon? By the way, I started to think and why I didnt see him on the Montreux Jazz Festival 2003? |

The Return of the Toby Smith....
Hello, :bm_r:
Hehe, as I japed about in the newest edition of my "Anchorman" comic post series, I really hope this rumour comes true. I mean a reunion of JK and Toby would be the icing on the 6th album cake, boy would all fans be as excited as a monkey! Hehe, thanks for the info discovery Diego , good news but still questionable. Peace!
Sincerely,

i really wouldn't count on it. they've been working on the new album for quite some time now. i think there will not be a second synkronized-incident as the situation seems to be a bit different with toby leaving the band and stu leaving the band. the only thing i could imagine at this point is that toby returns for the writing and production of some songs. but i don't see him as an active, touring bandmember at this point... _________________ Dear Auntie Em. It depends whether Jay is happy with the current state of the new album. The fact that he said Black Devil Car wasn't finished yet kinda scared me a little...There is still time to scrap the whole thing if he isn't quite ready and this would make a great oppertunity for Toby to come back.
Incredibly unlikely, but maybe not impossible _________________

Aw, yes, thanks CosmicMouse. I didn't read that, remember I am on this site since november 2003, I missed a lot of things, but I often read old topics. W
Well, thanks anyway.

I think if it is true, they will re-record the album. Wouldn't Toby want to put his creative stamp on the album's work? At the present time he hasn't, unless he's will to play stuff he had no part in creating.
The only other theory I could come up with, is if it is true that Toby is coming back, he might have secretly been in the recording process with the rest of the band mates. It's not like every piece of news leaks out to us, and for whatever reason they might have wanted to keep that under wraps. This theory is definately a reach at best though.
Just my 2 cents _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

The Speculation runs rampant.....
Hello again, :bm_r:
I kind of agree with Cheeeba_Lover on this, speculation could damage our expectations of the 6th Jam album. I know, I know , I have been guilty of doing this alot, but till there's some Official confirmation from the band our otherwise, I would just let do their "thing" and not think "what if and or what". The consensus we must keep in our minds is that the 6th album will be GREAT, whatever is done to it, with Toby is a last resort on making the album extra special for us fans, then granted, "great idea", if not, well, at least they tried. Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
