YOU BEAT ME TO IT!
Yes, it was an interesting performance. It seemed mostly like an imitation (though his voice sounds very different) to me. The most interesting part of the performance was the insertion of this guy's trademark vocal turn-tabling and scratching.
The highlight I guess would really be Randy's comment that "people don't really know who Jamiroquai is here, but he's huge in the rest of the world, and he should be huge here." |

It was sang by Blake Lewis..here is the You Tube clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGT_9zn6i_A
(Don't know how long this will be up, so look quick)
Randy did say that, but also Simon commented that Blake's performance wasn't unique, that he felt he copied off the original singer to which Paula and Randy both said, "Jamiroquai didn't originate those moves.", and then Randy said, "Jamiroquai got his moves from Michael Jackson, so it's all good'. - Ouch!
He was trying to stick up for Blake. I think the comments are at the end of that clip too - not sure.
Anyway, it really wasn't that bad of a performance. He didn't sing as high as Jay, so I didn't get the copycat part really. The turntablism he threw in there was just alright..it didn't last that long, but it was a nice spin on it.
Overall, the boys aren't good on this season anyway - the girls are dope as hell though.
Gotta love these manufactured pop stars shows and I sure do!

Don't forget that there is a YouTube Downloader called vdownloader.
I have it and I downloaded this clip with it! as an .AVI file.
I thought thius was a really good performance of this song, but, even though I don't like this guy particulary, I think he is a little "Justin Timberlake" sounding, but I liked the way he sang this track.
cool spin with the scatting for sure....
