Has Braquet lost the plot??
just wanted to know if anyone thinks braquet has gone a bit far with this Birthday rampage? 
this is intended to be fun and is by no means an insult to himself

I have just send him a private message.
I think there is really no point to bump all those very old messages... I mean, I even saw one from 2002... 
The "problem" with this is, that some people who just don't realize that those are old topics, will start to send congratulations as well... then we have big chaos...
I'd like to bring the threads down again, to be honest. So that we only have the recent ones on the top.

Hm, ok - just to let you all know... I started to tidy up the Jamily section (it was full with very old bumped threads because braquet was sending birthday wishes to people who had birthday months or years ago...) and I removed all those messages in order to bring the threads down again...
Unfortunately this caused some troubles in the database and everything was more chaotic than before. I had to remove the old birthday threads for a while and I accidentally deleted also the b'day greetings from braquet in the recent birthday topics (from Sandra, EDDI, Andrew, and so on). I am sorry about that. Those are still on the top and braquet's name appears as last poster, but there is no message in the thread. Sorry again for the trouble.
In the future, please braquet and everyone else... it doesn't make sense to birng back very old discussions which are finished. There is no need to wish everyone a happy birthday, when the birthday is over since half a year or more. No problem if you are late ( a week or so) and wish belated birthday, but when I see someone bumping up 30- 40 threads in 10 minutes and even the x-mas topic in order to wish everyone a merry christmas... well, I have to admit I feel slightly fooled.
This mess took me more than one hour. Time I would rather spend for more important things.

i think there's nothing bad with re-living those old threads, unless they're not interesting... maybe they talk about things we could give some opinion, and maybe i wasn't here yet when they were discussed!

Absolutely agree with this, but in this case it didn't make sense at all. There is no need to bring up the x-mas and halloween thread in March.
Also, if you bring up ONE or TWO old topics which are still relevant in a way (for example "when did you hear jamiroquai for the first time?" - we can still discuss this in 10 years!) - but to bump 40 (?) congratulation threads at the same time is a case of spam.

the only thing we are asking for is that u look around a bit before posting and that u try to be sensible for which threads it makes sense to make a comment and which note..
one thing to add..may u can also think about topic titles 2 words can be enough...it shouldn´t be a sentence
