I like the AFO cover the most. And I like the EOPE and the Dynamite Dual Disc too, they are like the opposite.

Actually there was a Dynamite cover that Sony didn't use but it looked so cool.

There was a close Jay wearing the hat from the dynamite tour and opening his hands misteriously. It was a bit mystical. I've always liked that cover.

No no. See this is where you're mistaken. We do not disrespect your opinions about the "new" Jamiroquai (or at least I don't). What I do criticize is that whenever somebody thinks something "new" is cool, or she/he likes it, you are giving your wrong opinion about that all the time. You shouldn't cause it's his/her decision and I know there's nothing you can do to change his/her mind (so why do you do it then? I don't get it). I may not like the Dynamite cover, but that doesn't give me the right to add 'ha you made a terrible choice!' (ok this are not the exact words, but that's the feel of your post) cause you ARE disrespecting his/her opinion. I don't disrespect your opinion, I do not like how you disrespect the others cause it feels kinda misplaced. And Ed, come on, this is not something new, and is not just me, we already had this discussion in other topics, and with different people. Don't take this the wrong way, is just me trying to make the site a more cosy place.

If I'm mistaken on what I say, please someone tell me. Or, Ed, try to explain to me the point of that 'haha! terrible', I'd really like to know the point of that, maybe we can clarify this.

You're right, I forgot that one! It was like a mixture between the AFO and the LF covers, a bigger version of that cover appeared a couple of months ago, nice choice... Cool

Sorry, Ed... maybe I have missed this, but I cannot remember that people are showing disrespect to your opinions. If someone says: "I have another opinion" or "I disagree" - does that mean to you he is disrespecting your opinon? If so there is a big misunderstanding. Of course everyone is allowed to say: "I prefer this cover, or that music era or this bassplayer or that drummer..." You can exchange opinions in a respectful way. And that's the common tone here at jamirotalk as far as I can see.

But when I read some comments from you, Ed, I feel like Diego. Sometimes your comments have a dissing touch. When a topic is about opinions or taste (like this one) and someone has chosen something which isn't conform with your own taste you say something like: "terrible choice" , "oh god" - comments that just denigrate the opinon or taste of someone else.

If it was just one time you did this.. well, nobody would remember. But it happens again and again - and for people who are new to this site and just come and share their opinion, it must feel very uncomfortable to get back such a slap in the face.

Everytime we want to discuss this with you, Ed, you feel insulted, although we are pointing out our uncomfortableness in a very polite and friendly way. You should take some well-meant advice from your friends and not just say "yeah, you won" - end of discussion, in order to start with those disrespecting comments in a few weeks again.

Let me know if there is need of clarification... for example, show me messages where you have been treated disrespectful - maybe I haven't seen it. I cannot have my eyes everywhere.

--------

About the covers:

I love the EOPE cover - because of its elementariness and the contrast to the colourful inlay.
In comparison to EOPE the second TROTSC cover is a bit unspectacular, just the inverse with a moon-structure... nice one, but not overwhelming for me.

TWM cover - brings a change and shows the BM in a different way - nice, but not really my favourite because I am not into cars at all, so I cannot really identify myself with this one. But it's still alright.

SYNK cover - The combination with nature and the BM in a mirror shape is a great idea. I like it a lot. I think it is original.

AFO cover - first time with Jay. What I like on this one are the colours and the dynamic feeling. It represents a disco feeling for me and fits to the music on the CD, so it is a logical picture for this album. Missing the BM on this one, though.

Dynamite cover - I don't think this cover represents the music on this album. It's too pale and depressive for me. This is the only cover that doesn't reflect the feel of the music on it. At least for me.
But I like the direction they are going with the singles - the artistic dealing with the bufalloman (SDISJ cover for example)

HT singles cover - I found a symbolic meaning in this cover which I like. For me it is a newstart, leave back old things, it means hope, optimism, a bit lonelyness... there is a lot you can read into it. It symbolizes teh end of chapter I and the hope for more to come. I also like the style of the photos, that's why I like this cover.

Gernerally, I love the buffaloman, but I am flexible - I don't care if they come up with something different, if it is good and creative.
Curious about the next cover. Wink

My favourite artwork is Travelling Without Moving!

My first album and fond memories at that!

For me:
EOPE and TWM

But I think there are much better covers among the singles.
Maybe we could discuss those in another thread... or this one.
