Picture Avator tips...
Hello Ms. P, :bm_b:
First off, thanks for all the warm vibes you've shown in your replies to my posts, your such a diamond! In regards to the picture avator up and running, here's how you do it:
1. To pick a specific picture from the net as a Picture Avator, right click on the picture with your mouse, and highlight "Save Picture as..", and save it on your computer, I recommend placing it on your Desktop.
2. Then log onto JamiroTalk.net, then click on "Profile" at the top. Then scroll down to picture avator portion, make sure to use a photo image altering program to resize your picture to less than 80 Pixels by 80 pixels, then resave your picture, THEN click on "Browse" and highlight your picture on your Desktop OR wherever you saved your picture.
3. Then when you have the picture highlighted in the "Browse" box, then click on "Submit" and then it will let you know if your picture is too big or not, if the picture was of the proper size, it will say "Profile has been updated".
4. Now, if your trying to link a picture on the net to your avator, type in the complete URL link to the picture in the "Upload Avatar from a URL".
There you go, hope it helps you out, I'm still trying to get my beautiful picture of yours truly's gob scanned onto the computer, but might take a while! Thanks for listening and take care!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000

A diamond? More like a cubic zircona - but thanks for the compliment!
Cheers for the instructions - now, I'm having trouble actually reducing the size of the photo, oh well, I'll keep working on it.
I wondererd if "avator" was an actual programme and yesterday downloaded some software - 3D chat! It's amazing what you technology you can get, I feel like a kid in a sweet shop!!!!!!!
I'll have some more questions, no doubt, once again, thanks for your help.

Jan, send me the pic at CosmicMouse@jamirotalk.net and I will bring it into the right size, okay?
Did I understand right that you want to put it as an avatar here at jamirotalk?

Hi Jan,
I also failed to get my chosen picture in the right size - I got crazy about that!!!! But then I asked the funkmaster and he did it for me - so nothing goes without Meike and her fabulous husband...
But I also have a technie question: how do I get a picture in or under my post?? I always tried it like this: I saved the pic from the net on my pc - but I didn't find a button where I can attach the pic to my post - and it doesn't work with copying either....sigh it's hopeless with me... |

Now I've have to choose a photo! I was gonna stick on in, then discard it, if it didnt look right .
I'm still thinking on it Meike and thanks again :)
Konni, I reckon you click on the tab that says "img", but then I don't know what you do
We can go mad with photos then!!!!! (maybe no-one is telling us cos they think we will go a little silly and post photos of nice cakes and old ladies stuff????) |

Right now, it is not possible to add pictures stored in your computer, but you can add ones from the internet. To do so, first find a picture on a website, right click on it and see the URL of it. Copy the URL, and then when posting click the img button and it will open up an image tag. Paste the URL of the picture next to the image tag. After you opened the first image tag you will notice a little star next to the img button, this is supposed to remind you not to forget to close your image tag. So click on the img button again and and another image tag, this time with a / in it will appear at the end of your image URL. Ok, now you've completed it. When you post your message, your little image tags and URL are shown as the picture. _________________

Thanks smellbob for your explanation!
I tried to answer Butterfly's question in an private message in german, because I hadn't enough time to write in english that day.
Ms.P ... you entered the URL of the whole website, where the pic is shown. That won't work, sorry! You will have to go to the JPA again, and click'n'hold on the pic with your RIGHT mousebutton, then click in the popup-menu on "information" or "load pic in new window" or "options" (this depends on which browser you are using: explorer, netscape,...).
What you need is the URL of the pic, only! Not the whole website. When you found that URL (perhaps when you opened the pic in a new site) then copy the URL and paste it into you message and put it between the image-tags, as you already did in your last messages.
I will disable the BBC-code in thie posting, so that you can see the code and understand wht I mean, ok? Don't be surprised...it is a very long link...

I hope I could make it clear... if not, maybe some native english speaker who has an english browser can explain it again...
Bye,

Nice Picture!!
Hello everyone,
Sorry I wasn't here fast enough to answer your question MsP, good job passing on info Smellbob (She's certainly been a mad hatter on JamiroTalk.net lately Eh?!?)! Nice picture MsP, reminds me of the Monty Python sketch of "People turning into Scotsmen"...all of the sudden you hear bagpipes from a yonder mountain, then you grow a red beard and raise your arm and magically dress up in a kilt and start trotting up the mountain..Hahaha! Thanks for listening and have a nice weekend! Hope you can share some more pictures soon MsP, of course beardless! Peace!
Sincerely,
