That's not the funk I want - one of the tracks we heard as raw demo version in Ahaus. It has changed a lot since then, but I can recognize it. I think we have heard 3 songs in Ahaus:

Goodbye to my dancer
Not the Funk
Super Highway

Super Highway was the best in my opinion, unfortunately not on the album. Hopefully it will make it on the next one! 5crossfingers

I ordered the Deluxe version at amazon.de and won't buy the japan version at the moment.

Maybe as a B-side on a single release? You can always 5crossfingers! Smile

I really wish the future single releases will have real B-sides. Meaning something like previously unreleased/alternative version/instrumental edit/live versions rather than yen another DJ Woozy Woo's super-fantastic 4-to-da-floor remix. If you know what I mean. Smile

Wow, I actually like the bonus song! Listening to it a few times, I get Deeper Underground vibes from it. They're kinda subtle though. It also sounds kind of "old school spacey" Cool

well, when i got the chance to talk to derrick one week ago in colombia, he told me they had recorded like 40 tracks. mercury decided to put only 15 for the new album. the rest is gonna be (not all but who knows) for the next album. in fact , he confirmed super highway is gonna be for the next album. i assume the next albumm will be released in 2012 .

I think these snippets show the album's got a bit for just about everyone to be pleased about. It's true that you may not like the entire album, but do you honestly have a cd that you LOVE in its entirety? I don't. And I have hundreds of cds. There's always one or two (sometimes more) songs that just doesn't/don't appeal to us.

By the way, I'm thrilled that the horns are back, back, back!!

After listening to the clips, my top 3 are:
- She's a Fast Persuader => the typical sound we expect from Jamiroquai

- Two Completely Different Things => I guess this is RDLS's ''seven days in sunny june''. No problem at all. SDISJ was my favourite Dynamite track; I reckon this is the one I'll still be playing long after the last single has left the charts. I absolutely love the flute in it.
And yes, as it's been said, I think there's a bit of Brazil in it too. It also reminds me of Everyday.

- Hey Floyd => that's the type of fast track that we love from Jamiroquai. I can even imagine the various remixes.

That said, I guess Hurtin is this time's Black Devil Car. I always skip that one. I guess I'll skip this one too.

Something curious happened. When I listened to RDLS and BS before the snippets popped up on line, I found them ok. I didn't hate them (far from it), but I didn't LOVE them either. While listening to the clips though, both songs ended up being some of the tracks I liked the most. Any explanation for that? Is it because they are already familiar songs? Could it be that I now ''understand'' them better, in the context of the whole album? Or is it because some of the album tracks are weaker? I honestly don't know.

I just found some songs towards the end of the cd just... ok. A bit boring even... Ok, these are just 30-second snippets and these songs may still stand out.

For some reason I think Lifeline sounds a bit like King For A Day.

These are just my preliminary observations.
