Do you guys really care what the name of the album is? It's the content that counts. It could be called "the Shit album", and I'd still judge it by the content and not the name.
Another question to pose, is each album name has also been the name of a song on the album. So if it is in fact the name of the album, will there be a song named Dynamite? _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

In most of the cases it happens... But imagine a track called 'Dynamite'... I'm still with the idea it's too simple for Jay... _________________ This is FunkEducation, supporting the 1992-1998 Jamiroquai!!

@ Jammineapolis
Album title is very important part of every new album because first thing you hear is album title and on that you get first impression.
Well, that is it's working title, I think Jay wanted to say it'll be dynamite. I think true title will be something different. |

I disagree. For some album titles you can get a "feel" for the album by the name, but a lot of times you can't. There are many instances includin Jamiroqaui themselves where I think that's bogus. Emergency on Planet Earth? What "feel" do I get from that?
You are right though when it comes to Metallica calling an album St Anger or the Black Album. _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

I agree with mteykay.
In AFO the hat, the stage and a couple of songs had something to do with all the space cosmic stuff -blue color, electric sounds, etc
With Dynamite all that comes to my mind is some red-orange rocky music feeling.
Anyway, we won´t be sure of anything untill we had listened to the first single (the first single uses to be the best track of the whole album) |

Well, on the last two albums, the title track remained unreleased (Synkronized + A Funk Odyssey). This means we will have yet another unreleased track to be played exclusively at concerts: 'Dynamite' :D

Dynamite is whatever you interpret it to be. If you wanna read into the title that deep, then it could also mean the whole album is loud and uptempo. Like an album with a lot of energy.
Van Halen named one of their strongest albums 1984. What kind of interpretation do you get from that title when you see it first hand? That's why I think y'all are reading too much into album titles. Just wait til you hear the content to make up your mind about the album. _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

i'm with jaminneapolis here. i don't really care what the name of the album is in the end. it really is up to oneself to interpret the title. dynamite for me sounds like alot of fun, explosive sounds... big fat sound. i can already see myself in the first row at a concert, the stage full with smoke, almost no light, just a little red dot blinking in the center of the stage, hearing a computer-voice... three... two... one...
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
jay gets pushed up on stage through a hole in the middle of the stage, jumps off the platform and just stands there while the stage is being lit with stroboscopic (spelling?) lights, the smoke being lit by yellow and red lights so it looks like something just exploded
the bass starts to kick in, fans screaming, jay starts singing...
.... i need a concert - NOW! _________________ Dear Auntie Em. Hate you, hate Kansas, took the dog. Dorothy. x |

Well, the most important thing on album are of course songs! I'd say 95 percents.
Other 5 are Title, artcover, extra stuff on CD, bonuses, commercials on TV, ... You all know that. All these parts must be catchy, interesting, something you won't forget.
Well, just my opinion on something. I prefer when the title of the album is not the title of any song on album. I prefer if it's something different. Like TROTSC, or S, or AFO, or Daft Punk - Homework, ... |

Hello Jamirotalkers,
I agree with mtekay. The promotion is I'd say 15%. The videos, the cover, everything has something to do with the album. It comes to my mind the album 'Mimosa' by Fun Lovin' Criminals, it was good album, but the cover was completely and absolutely horrible!!
And besides, I don't think we have to worry about the cover, every single one of them have been amazing, I love them, what can I say... even if Jay was on it like in AFO, it was beautiful, all the colours...
And about the title, I agree with Bear here, Dynamite is not that bad, but perhaps the album is like he describes it, and the title then it fixs.
But well, let's just wait, and for the ones who don't like the title... what do you prefer? (invent titles)
Bye,
D! (diego) |

Thanks for backin me on this one 'bear. I will say that your description of a concert on the "Dynomite" World Tour kinda freaks me out. It seems like the description of an '80s hair metal band. Since I've never seen Jamiroquai live before, I really hope that your description doesn't come to fruition. I'd have a hard time decifering if I was seeing Jay Kay or if I was seeing Brett Michaels from Poison lol. _________________ Wouldn't 'ya like... To walk the sunny avenues of life? |

Hi everybody!
In my opinion the album should have a Title more extensive.
I think that just one word is too small for a group as jamiroquai.
BUt I think too that the title is not the important thing of the album, the most important are the songs!
in few months.... _________________ www.jamirolive.com
