I didn't know taht about better quality. Could be true because of the better materials.
But I must admit, it looks really cool! Someone told me that it would be even more cooler if the upper side of CD would contain track, like normal vinyl.

from the look of the photos, it does - we have blank CDs for sale here is AU that are of that pretend vinyl type - black, with track indentations in the top...they are very cool and i use them for when i want to *ahem* backup my music...

oh yeah, right I remember black Smart Buy CD-R's and all other colors of the rainbow.
